    Abstract: An access network device determines to add, for a remote terminal device, a direct path for connecting a first cell. The remote terminal device is connected to a second cell through an indirect path. The access network device sends an RRC reconfiguration message to indicate the remote terminal device to switch to the direct path. The RRC reconfiguration message further indicate not to release the indirect path. When being indicated to switch to the direct path, the remote terminal device may further be indicated not to release the indirect path.

    Abstract: A first network device receives first information from a second terminal device or a third network device, where the first information includes an identifier of a first terminal device, and the third network device is a network device on which the second terminal device camps. The first network device sends the identifier of the first terminal device to a second network device, where the identifier of the first terminal device is usable to determine whether the first terminal device is authorized to provide a relay service.
