摘要： Cigarettes 10 gravity discharged from a container supply stack 11 are transported by an elongated intermediate conveyor 12 to a funnel-like distribution chamber 16, and from then flow onto a transfer conveyor 27 in a main stream and into a buffer storage magazine 23 in a smaller stream. The magazine comprises a bidirectionally movable belt 24 having an angled endwall 25 mounted on it. A hinged sidewall 13 is repeatedly flapped against the cigarette ends by a roller driven cam 33 and follower 32 to evenly align them transverse to the direction of conveyance, and misaligned ones fall through lateral sideslots 37, 38 of the intermediate conveyor onto an angled deflection plate 39. Lightbeams 21, 22 in the distribution chamber monitor and control the level of the cigarette flow stream. The magazine is appropriately controlled for filling or discharge to maintain a constant output flow when the supply stacks are being changed.

The outer wrap comprises a hinge lid box including a collar having a cut-out formed therein. A freely projecting tear-open tab is formed by a material overlap which extends transversely across a front wall side of the thin wrap within the region of the cut-out. A free edge portion of said tear-open tab rests upon an external portion of the collar and the tear-open tab adjoining a pull-off strip extending upwardly from the cut-out.

摘要： An apparatus for packaging cigarettes includes a magazine 35 for supplying cigarette groups 23 to pockets 37 of a first revolver 32, whereafter they are transferred into foil lined pockets 38 of a second revolver 33 and then into paper lined pockets 39 of a third revolver 34. The groups are always oriented with their wide front or rear faces outermost in the pockets to minimize the radial transfer distance, and movable support plates 93 are provided at the first transfer station 45 to engage the free outer row of loose cigarettes to retain them intact during transfer.

摘要： Apparatus for producing discrete blanks from a web of foil or the like is provided, in which the foil or the like are given continuous constrained guidance during the phase between separation of the web until transfer to a packet or packing machine. The web is transported into the system between a first pair of pulling rollers then transferred to a conveyor of two spaced belts. The belts are provided with a series of apertures through which a suction is pulled to hold the transported web. The belts diverge slightly and pull the web at a higher speed than the first pair of rollers so that the web is stretched both lengthwise and transversely. Severance from the web is carried out in at least one initial cut, followed by a main cut, during continuous constrained guidance.

A first portion of the travelling web is momentarily halted during the application of the tear tape, which takes place by a heat welding method. During the period of time while the first portion of the web is stationary, the remaining portions of the web continue to be transported at a constant speed, due to the effect of a pair of pivotally mounted diverting rollers which form web reserves on either side of the stationary first portion.
