Abstract: A closure includes a top wall portion, an annular skirt portion depending from the top wall portion and a tamper-evident band. The skirt portion includes an internal thread formation. The tamper-evident band depends from and is at least partially detachably connected to the skirt portion by a frangible connection. The closure further includes a 2-stage tag imbedded therein. The 2-stage tag includes an antenna, a switch with a plurality of leads, and a chip or integrated circuit. The current path of the switch is interrupted after the tamper-evident band has been at least partially broken from the skirt portion. The chip stores first and second readable codes that correspond to unopened and opened positions. The frangible connection extends through the 2-stage tag and includes at least two bridges.

Abstract: A package includes a container and a closure. The container has an external thread formation on the neck portion and a circumferential bead. The closure includes a first and second closure portion. The first closure portion includes a top wall portion, a skirt portion, and first and second frangible connections. The first frangible connection extends around the closure circumference. The second frangible connection is spaced from the first frangible connection. At least a portion of the second frangible connection is located further from the top wall portion than a portion of the first frangible connection. The second frangible connection defines an area adapted to form a tab. The second closure portion includes a tamper-evident band. The closure is adapted to be opened by twisting to break the frangible connections and expose the tab and then flipping the first closure portion from the second closure portion via the exposed tab. The closure is adapted to be locked when flipped.

Abstract: A tamper-evident, flip-top closure includes first and second closure portions and a hinge. The first closure portion includes a top wall portion and an annular skirt portion. The top wall portion forms a cavity, an opening therethrough, and opposing pivotable recesses. The second closure portion includes a plug and a pivotable support. The plug is received into the opening of the first closure portion. The pivotable support has first and second end extensions that are received into a respective one of the pivotable recesses. The hinge connects the first and second closure portions and includes at least one frangible connection. The cavity receives at least a part of the second closure portion. After the at least one frangible connection is broken, the second closure portion is moveable between a closed position and an open, flipped position by flipping and pivoting the second closure portion via the end extensions.
