    摘要： Network architectures, methods, and operations for routing telephone calls are disclosed. A customer premise includes a conventional POTS dedicated communication line to a central office switch and a broadband connection to a data network. The central office switch and the data network are connected by a communication link. A first telephone call originated at the customer premise may be connected via the dedicated communication link. A second or subsequent call originated at the customer premise may be connected via the data network. Optionally, the same call identifier may be assigned to the first and second or subsequent calls.

    摘要： A system and method for providing video signals wherein the video signals from a single video source may be separately passed over two different transmission paths. Each transmission path includes an encoder, a communications channel and a decoder. The output of each communications path at the decoder provides the video signals and an alarm signal. The alarm signal indicates an error or disruption of the video signals over the corresponding communications path. The outputted video and alarm signals are provided to a video protection switch (VPS) device which provides the video signal from the second transmission path if the alarm signals indicates an error or disruption in the first transmission path. In one embodiment, the VPS has multiple switches, one for each of plural video sources, and a redundant switch and protection ports. The redundant switch and protection ports may be connected to receive the video and alarm signals if one of the switches in the VPS fails.

    摘要： A system for planning and managing a software development project uses an extreme programming (XP) process and includes a graphical user interface (GUI) for displaying graphs and for entering, displaying and modifying underlying planning data. In one embodiment, the GUI includes first, second and third windows. The first window displays bar graphs reflecting both estimated development work and available resources (developer hours) for working on development. The second window displays bar graphs representing both estimated testing work and available resources for working on testing. The third window displays underlying data (e.g., project components and assignment of project components to scheduled development periods). A project manager may use the third window to adjust underlying data in order to better balance work and resources displayed in the first and second windows. Additional underlying data (individual developers, assigned hours, estimates of work on individual project components, etc.) may be displayed in other windows.
