    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Aspects of the disclosure describe narrow beam-based channel access that enables a device to communicate in a shared radio frequency spectrum band without performing channel access procedures. Specifically, aspects of the disclosure describe techniques for defining one or more directional beams as a narrow beam, where the relative narrowness of the beam may be determined in the context of interference (e.g., as opposed to being defined from a geometric perspective). For example, a particular beam may be determined to be a narrow beam, and therefore associated with communications in shared radio frequency spectrum bands without channel access procedures, based on one or more metrics and a number of spatial streams associated with the beam. A device may use such narrow beams for communications without channel access procedures in shared radio frequency spectrum bands.

    Abstract: Wireless communication methods and devices for selective receiver-assisted channel sensing are provided. In some aspects, one or more receivers (e.g., UEs) can be selectively configured to perform receiver-assisted channel sensing (e.g., class A channel sensing) using at least one of trigger signaling and channel sensing configuration by a BS, UE capabilities, or operational mode.     Abstract: Mechanisms for directional channel occupancy monitoring for a frequency band among multiple networks are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes monitoring, in a shared frequency band in a plurality of beam directions, for signals associated with one or more wireless networks different from the first wireless network. The monitoring includes: detecting, in the shared frequency band and in at least a first beam direction of the plurality of beam directions, a first signal associated with a second wireless network; and up-dating a channel occupancy list to indicate that at least a portion of the shared frequency band is occupied in at least the first beam direction. The method also includes transmitting, in the shared frequency band, a second signal in a second beam direction of the plurality of beam directions based on the channel occupancy list.
