Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for selecting beamforming parameters for uplink transmissions based on an uplink reference signal. An example method generally includes identifying one or more parameters for beamformed transmission to a transmit receive point (TRP), transmitting a reference signal using beamforming in accordance with the identified parameters, and receiving, from the TRP in response to the reference signal, signaling for adjusting the one or more parameters for one or more subsequent beamformed transmissions.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station (BS), a signaling communication that indicates one or more preamble sequence configurations. Each of the preamble sequence configurations may specify a respective plurality of preamble sequence rules for a different random access channel (RACH) procedure type. The UE may generate, based at least in part on a plurality of preamble sequence rules for a preamble sequence configuration of the one or more preamble sequence configurations, a preamble sequence for a RACH communication in a RACH procedure. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Devices of a wireless communications system may be configured to group data packets as a batch or file. In some cases, resources may be determined based on one or more resource grants corresponding to file communication. Other aspects may include DCI configurations corresponding to file communication, resource grants may be configured to assign resources for communication of a file. For example, a DCI may be specifically configured for granting resources for communication of a file. In another example, configured grants may include a configured grant index corresponding to communication of a file. Other aspects may include configuration of a UE for responding to a preemption indication when a file is scheduled for communication, power adjustments for communication of a file, reference signal configurations for communication of a file, and/or coherent detection/transmission across two or more packets of a file.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for concurrent reference signal transmissions using common resources, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS) transmissions, from a number of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmitters. Different transmitters may use different sequences for reference signal transmissions, which may allow a receiver, such as a wireless base station, to decode the reference signal transmissions for each NOMA transmitter and perform channel estimation for each NOMA transmitter. The reference signal transmissions may be asynchronous with a bounded timing offset or quasi-synchronous, and the reference signal sequence selection may provide for relatively reliable channel estimation and coherent demodulation.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a user equipment (UE) to set uplink power control for a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst. The UE receives uplink power control information including a first set of power control parameters for a long uplink burst and a second set of power control parameters for a short uplink burst with the sets of power control parameters being different from each other. The UE configures uplink power control for the long uplink burst based at least on the first set of power control parameters and the short uplink burst based at least on the second set of power control parameters. The UE sends at least one of a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst based on the corresponding uplink power control and sends at least one uplink power-headroom report for the long uplink burst and short uplink burst.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive system information from a base station indicating at least one configuration rule for power control parameter setting for random access. The UE may measure one or more reference signals and may estimate a path loss of wireless communications between the base station and the UE based on the measured reference signals. The UE may select one or more parameters from one or more sets of parameters indicated in the configuration rule. The UE may select a first transmit power for a preamble of a random access message and a second transmit power for a payload of the random access message, based on the estimated path loss and the configuration rule for power control parameters and power ramping procedures. The UE may transmit the random access message according to the selected first and second transmit powers.

A node (e.g., a BS or UE) may receive information regarding a configuration of at least one subframe for measuring mixed interference between the node and one or more nodes in a network. The configuration specifies a pattern for measuring reference signals by the node within the at least one subframe. The node may measure reference signals according to the pattern, and determine interference between the node and the one or more nodes, based on the measured reference signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) capable of supporting multiple antenna ports may determine that some combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously. The UE may make this determination by evaluating the relationships between the physical antennas and the transmit chains included in the UE. Upon determining that the combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously, the UE may send a message to a base station. The message may indicate whether two or more antenna ports can be used at the same time. The UE may communicate simultaneously over one or more antenna ports based on the scheduling information from the base station which takes into account the ability of the combination of antenna ports to be used concurrently.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may assign a set of preamble blocks for autonomous uplink transmissions from a preamble block pool. A user equipment (UE) may identify indices for each of a set of indexed sequences to be transmitted over the set of preamble blocks. The UE may select or identify the indices by performing an encoding procedure on a set of parameters. The indices may be applied to the pool of indexed sequences, and the resulting set of sequences may be transmitted over the set of assigned preamble blocks. The base station may recognize composite sequences transmitted from UEs on respective sets of preamble blocks based on the set of sequences. Thus, the base station may identify a data transmission from the UE based on monitoring for and identifying the set of sequences transmitted on the preamble blocks.
