    Abstract: Disclosed are systems and techniques for efficient joint communications and radio frequency (RF) sensing. For example, a method for communications and sensing can include receiving, by a receiver, a first signal based on a reflection of a second signal from a target, wherein the first signal comprises a waveform including a plurality of communications instances and a plurality of sensing instances. The method can include determining, using radio frequency sensing, at least one characteristic of the target based on information in at least one of the plurality of sensing instances.

    Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media to determine a location of a device using carrier phase positioning. A process includes transmitting, at the device to a network entity, a phase measurement capability of a device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)) for subcarrier set pairs of different resources received by the device. The different resources are associated with a reference signal. The process can include receiving, at the device, a phase measurement request from a network entity for configuring phase measurements of the subcarrier set pairs of the different resources. The process can include transmitting a phase measurement report to the network entity based on the phase measurement request, the phase measurement report including information associated with a measured phase difference of at least one subcarrier set pair associated with the different resources.

A process can include receiving, at the UE from a network entity, a phase measurement request from a network entity. The phase measurement request includes properties of one or more pairs of subcarrier sets of at least one reference signal received by the UE. A subcarrier set includes at least one subcarrier. The process can further include transmitting a phase measurement report to the network entity. The phase measurement report includes information associated with a phase measurement performed using at least one subcarrier set pair of the at least one reference signal based on the properties included in the phase measurement request.

    Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enhance the security of UWB ranging, thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of the UWB ranging. In one aspect, a first wireless device embeds first information for generating a secure sequence of a ranging message in a payload section of the ranging message. The first wireless device generates the secure sequence based at least in part on the first information. The first wireless device transmits the ranging message including the secure sequence and the payload section for a second wireless device. In another aspect, a second wireless device receives a ranging message from a first wireless device that includes a first secure sequence and a payload section. The second wireless device generates a second secure sequence based on information embedded in the payload section of the ranging message.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission transmitted using a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS).
