Abstract: Techniques described provide for a wireless network to establish and implement periodic and aperiodic sidelink gaps. One implementation may include transmitting, by a first user equipment (UE), a sidelink configuration message. The sidelink configuration message may indicate a capability of the first UE to support a sidelink periodic gap and a sidelink aperiodic gap. A message may be received by the first UE indicating whether the first UE is allowed to request a gap according to one or more of the indicated capabilities. The first UE may transmit a sidelink information message comprising an absolute radio frequency channel number (AR-FCN) and an associated gap list. An RRC reconfiguration message may also be received by the first UE having and updated gap list. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) flexibly prioritize between communication resources and measurement gaps to resolve collisions between communication resources and measurement gaps. For collisions between a dynamically scheduled communication resources and a measurement gap, a UE may communicate using the scheduled communication resource based on at least one of a time between reception of the downlink control message and a start of the measurement gap satisfying a first threshold duration or a second period of time between reception of the downlink control message and a start of the communication resource satisfying a second threshold duration. For collisions between periodic communication resources and periodic measurement gaps, a UE may either perform a measurement during the measurement gap or communicate using the communication resource based on a priority scheme associated with the measurement gap and the periodically scheduled communication resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using an operating bandwidth part (BWP) that includes a first set of frequency resources. The UE may receive a group-common downlink control information (GC-DCI) message from the base station that includes a resource format indicator (RFI) for the UE (e.g., among multiple RFIs for a set of UEs in the GC-DCI) indicating a second set of frequency resources. The UE may modify the operating BWP based on the second set of frequency resources and communicate with the base station using the modified operating BWP. In some examples, the UE may switch the operating BWP to the second set of frequency resources or may reduce the operating BWP to a set of overlapping frequency resources between the first and second sets of frequency resources.

Abstract: In a legacy gNB (e.g., pre-Rel. 17 gNB), RC UEs with only 1 or 2 receive antennas may have a geographic coverage area for control data and traffic data that is smaller than their geographic coverage area for SSB with respect to certain legacy gNBs. By contrast, at least some new gNBs (e.g., Rel. 17+ gNBs) have the capability to provide uniform geographic coverage for RC UEs with respect to SSB, control data and traffic data. In an aspect of the disclosure, a particular class of UEs (such as RC UEs) is steered towards particular cells (e.g., Rel. 17+ gNBs) via one or more biased class-specific cell selection parameters included in system information from the cells.
