Abstract: This application provides an Ethernet data-based communication method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device from a network device, a parameter used to indicate a first Ethernet compression capability; generating a first Ethernet packet based on the parameter of the first Ethernet compression capability; and sending the first Ethernet packet to the network device. Therefore, not only a manner in which the network device enables the terminal device to use an Ethernet compression capability is proposed, but also the terminal device and the network device can transmit compressed Ethernet data in a wireless network, thereby effectively saving resources.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to wireless communication methods, terminal devices, and network devices. In one example method, a network device sends timing advance timer (TAT) configuration information to a terminal device, where the TAT configuration information is used by the terminal device to configure duration of a TAT. The terminal device receives the TAT configuration information sent by the network device. The terminal device configures the TAT based on the TAT configuration information, and asynchronously sends uplink data to the network de vice based on a running status of the TAT. The network device receives the uplink data sent by the terminal device based on the TAT configuration information.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a communications method and apparatus. The method includes: determining a target cell based on measurement results of N measured cells and a preset value when there is a first cell satisfying a report trigger condition; and sending a measurement result of the target cell to a base station. Based on the foregoing technical solution, the terminal may not only send the measurement result of the cell satisfying the trigger condition to the base station, but also send a measurement result of another cell to the base station. In this way, a quantity of cells that can be selected during determining of handover can be increased, to help the base station select a suitable cell for the terminal.

Abstract: This application provides a communication method and a communications apparatus. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for handover between secondary base stations, a network device, and user equipment. A network device instructs each of at least one candidate secondary base station to make a prior path handover preparation, so that each of the at least one candidate secondary base station waits to be selected by user equipment as a target secondary base station. The path handover preparation includes at least one of the following: preconfiguring an access resource for the user equipment or establishing a data transmission channel with the network device. The user equipment is handed over to the target secondary base station in the at least one candidate secondary base station according to configuration information of each of the at least one candidate secondary base station when the user equipment needs path handover.
