    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify time and frequency resources for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) in a first transmission time interval (TTI). The base station may transmit configuration information for a control channel search space set in a second TTI. The second TTI may precede the first TTI. The configuration information may include an indication of an absence of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission to send in the control channel search space set indicating the identified time and frequency resources for the PDSCH, and a set of time and frequency resources for the control channel search space set. The UE may receive the configuration information and identify the time and frequency resources allocated for the PDSCH in the second TTI, and receive the PDSCH transmission in the second TTI.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described techniques provide for the identification of a sequence of beamforming parameters that are used for communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station using a sequence of transmission beams. A UE may measure received reference signals that are transmitted in a series of downlink transmission beams from a base station, and report measurement parameters associated with the downlink transmission beams to the base station as part of a beam tracking and beam refinement procedure. The base station may provide transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states that are associated with each transmission beam. The TCI states may be recorded over a course of a periodic movement of the UE, and may be used deterministically to identify beamforming parameters for transmission and reception of a subsequent series of downlink transmission beams when the UE makes a subsequent same periodic movement.

For example, the method may select a two-step RACH procedure or a four-step RACH procedure at the UE based at least on RACH configuration information received from a base station or the RACH configuration information at the UE.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to transition to communicating on a first bandwidth part from communicating on a second bandwidth part. In order to ensure that the UE is able to perform receiver processing for demodulating data received on the first bandwidth part, after transitioning to communicating on the first bandwidth part, the UE may be configured to perform receiver processing using reference signals received on the second bandwidth part. That is, for a configured period of time, before the UE is able to perform receiver processing for demodulating data received on the first bandwidth part using reference signals received on the first bandwidth part, the UE may perform receiver processing for demodulating data received on the first bandwidth part using reference signals received on the second bandwidth part.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for random access channel (RACH) communication. For example, certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE). The method generally includes transmitting a first message comprising a RACH preamble, receiving a second message comprising random access response (RAR) in response to the RACH preamble, transmitting a third message in response to the RAR, receiving a fourth message (MSG4) comprising a contention resolution message in response to the third message. In certain aspects, the fourth message may include a timing advance (TA) parameter which may be used to communicate one or more messages.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Wireless communications systems may support uplink random access channel (RACH) transmissions on multiple beams and over multiple component carriers (CCs). A wireless device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station in a first RACH transmission, which may indicate a set of CCs over which the base station may respond with a random access response (RAR) in a second RACH transmission. The second RACH transmission may then include an indication for which CCs the wireless device may use for a subsequent RACH transmission (e.g., a RACH message 3). The wireless device may also indicate a beam index and/or time-frequency resources associated with beams and/or CCs used for such cell acquisition transmissions. In other examples, the base station may indicate resources (e.g., via a handover command or RACH command) for wireless device scheduling request and/or beam-failure recovery request transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) capable of supporting multiple antenna ports may determine that some combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously. The UE may make this determination by evaluating the relationships between the physical antennas and the transmit chains included in the UE. Upon determining that the combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously, the UE may send a message to a base station. The message may indicate whether two or more antenna ports can be used at the same time. The UE may communicate simultaneously over one or more antenna ports based on the scheduling information from the base station which takes into account the ability of the combination of antenna ports to be used concurrently.
