Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device may be configured to transmit one or more reference signals to a second wireless device using a first antenna array at the first wireless device and in accordance with a first precoder matrix. The first wireless device may receive, from the second wireless device based on the one or more reference signals, a feedback message indicating an estimated rotational misalignment, an estimated spatial misalignment, or both, between the first antenna array at the first wireless device and a second antenna array at the second wireless device. The first wireless device may then transmit a message to the second wireless device in accordance with a second precoder matrix that is modified relative to the first precoder matrix based at least in part on the estimated rotational misalignment, the estimated spatial misalignment, or both.

In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes transmitting, by a wireless communication device, a random access control channel (RACH) request message; and receiving, by the wireless communication device, a RACH response message based on the RACH request message, wherein a waveform type of RACH response messages is dynamic, wherein the waveform type of the RACH response message is determined by the wireless communication device, and wherein transmitting the RACH request message and receiving the RACH response message comprise a two-step RACH procedure. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) or a base station, or both, may determine a configuration for partitioning a set of sequences into multiple sequence pools associated with multiple UEs. The UE or the base station, or both, may determine a sequence pool associated with the UE based on the configuration, which may include parameters or instructions for determining the sequence pool associated with the UE. The UE or the base station, or both, may select a subset of sequences from the sequence pool associated with the UE and construct a codebook including the subset of sequences. The UE may select a sequence from the constructed codebook based on a quantity of bits of a payload and may transmit the payload to the base station using the selected sequence.

Abstract: Aspects relate to adaptation of the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a downlink transmission to a scheduled entity that overlaps in time with an uplink transmission from the scheduled entity when the scheduled entity is operating in a full-duplex mode. A transport block corresponding to the downlink transmission may include a plurality of code block groups (CBGs). When at least a portion of the CBGs overlap in time with the uplink transmission, the MCS of the entire transport block or the MCS of the overlapping CBGs may be adjusted to accommodate and/or mitigate interference between downlink and uplink transmissions. The CBGs may further be time-interleaved over a plurality of symbols allocated for the downlink transmission to accommodate and/or mitigate interference between downlink and uplink transmissions. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Aspects relate to technologies and techniques for sequence-based, non-coherent wireless channel transmission of a payload on a physical uplink channel. A transmitter converts information bits of a payload to be transmitted to a decimal integer value that is, in turn, used to generate a modified maximum sequence (m-sequence) based on one or more predetermined parameters such as an m-sequence generating polynomial, a starting location in the sequence, and an initialization. The generated modified m-sequences are modulated using modulation schemes such as π/2 binary phase-shift keying and quadrature phase-shift keying for transmission on the physical uplink channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitter may transmit a payload in transmission to the base station in a wireless communications system. The transmitter may identify a payload to include in the transmission to the base station. The transmitter may determine to transmit the transmission using an orthogonal sequence codebook or a non-orthogonal sequence codebook, based on a size of the payload, a control message from the base station to the transmitter, or a combination of these. The transmitter may then transmit the transmission to the base station based on whether the transmission is to use the orthogonal sequence codebook or the non-orthogonal sequence codebook. The transmission may be a noncoherent transmission. The transmission may be an uplink control information transmission, an uplink data transmission, a downlink control information transmission, or a downlink data transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may indicate for a first device to transmit random information in the direction of an adverse device on at least partially overlapping time and frequency resources that are also used for receiving a downlink message from the base station. By transmitting the random information in the direction of the adverse device, the first device may cause entropy overhead to the adverse device, impacting an ability of the adverse device to decode portions of the downlink message transmitted to and intended for the first device. Accordingly, the first device may receive the downlink message and may concurrently transmit the random information in the direction of the adverse device on time and frequency resources that at least partially overlap with time and frequency resources used for receiving the downlink message based on receiving the indication from the base station.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a subframe structure for time division duplex (TDD) carriers that can be entirely self-contained. That is, information transmitted on a TDD carrier may be grouped into subframes, where each subframe provides communication in both directions (e.g., uplink and downlink) in a suitable fashion to enable such communication without needing any further information in another subframe. For example, a single subframe may include scheduling information, data information corresponding to the scheduling information, and acknowledgment information corresponding to the data information.
