    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for determining a helper UE group to facilitate communications with a target using sidelinks. A helper UE may determine a sidelink channel correlation with at least one other UE, report to a base station channel diversity information, UE state information, UE traffic pattern information, sidelink channel measurements, and the determined sidelink channel correlation; and receive an indication from the gNB if the UE is a member of a helper UE group. A base station may transmit a control message to at least one UE; receive a report comprising sidelink channel correlation information, sidelink channel diversity information, and UE state information, from each of the at least one UE, in response to transmitting the control message; and determine a helper UE group based on the received report.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive configuration information from a base station that indicates a set of resources for the UE to establish sidelink communications with another UE in a wireless network. The UE may transmit a first set of reference signals using a first set of beams to determine a set of neighboring candidate UEs for a sidelink connection. The UE may then transmit a second set of reference signals on a second set of beams to the neighboring candidate UEs, and may select a second UE located in the determined neighboring set using various beam scanning procedures. The UE may identify a transmit beam associated with the second UE, and may establish the sidelink connection using the identified transmit beam.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an efficient demodulation reference signal (DMRS) design to facilitate a user equipment (UE) in performing blind detection of a DMRS sequence to determine if a transmission includes data for the UE. Specifically, features of the present disclosure implement techniques that use DMRS design to facilitate blind detection of a DMRS sequence in order for the UE to determine whether a packet for the UE was transmitted during a particular SPS slot. By utilizing the techniques described herein, the base station may forego using PDCCH to provide new allocation information each time that a packet misses the assigned SPS slot.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a negative acknowledgement (NACK) corresponding to a failed communication from a first transmission/reception point (TRP) included in a coordinated multipoint network. The UE may monitor a control channel associated with a second TRP included in the coordinated multipoint network based at least in part on transmitting the NACK, wherein the first TRP and the second TRP use different frequency bands. The UE may receive a retransmission of the failed communication based at least in part on monitoring the control channel. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: A unified frame structure for communicating in a synchronous and slotted mesh network is provided. Nodes within the mesh network are designated as primary and secondary nodes. For each transmission, a primary node may first send scheduling information to secondary nodes associated with the primary node. The receiver of the scheduled link may send a clear-to-send signal. For uplink scheduled transmissions, the receiver is the primary node. For downlink scheduled transmissions, the receiver is a secondary node. The transmitter of the scheduled link may receive the CTS signal from one or more proximate receivers, including a receiver associated with the scheduled transmission as well as other receivers not associated with the scheduled transmission. The transmitter of the scheduled link may estimate the signal to interference-plus-noise ratio of other links that are of higher priority and may then determine whether to yield or power back off the scheduled transmission.

A first cell may receive a message indicating that a second cell has a priority transmission scheduled using a transmit time interval (TTI) that is shorter than a TTI used by the first cell.
