Abstract: Systems and methods provide packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) user plane (UP) integrity protection (IP) for a user equipments (UE) and radio access network (RAN) nodes operating in Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access—New Radio dual connectivity (EN-DC). Abstract: Reporting UL Tx DC sub-carrier location information may include decoding a radio resource control (RRC) message received from a base station. The RRC message may comprise a configuration for dynamically reporting uplink (UL) transmit (Tx) direct current (DC) sub-carrier location information. A change associated with at boast one previous UL Tx DC sub-carrier location may be determined to have occurred, thereby creating at least one new UL Tx DC sub-carrier location. In response to determining the change, a medium access control (MAC) control element (MAC CE) may be encoded for transmission to the base station. The MAC CE may include information corresponding to the at least one new UL Tx DC sub-carrier location.

Abstract: MBS key distribution includes processing group information associated with an MB session context received from an AF. At least a portion of the group information comprises a TMGI. A plurality of session join requests received from a plurality of UEs are processed. Each of the plurality of session join requests include the TMGE and are associated with the MB session context. A request associated with the MB session context for transmission to an MB-SMF is encoded. A response associated with the MB session context received from the MB-SMF is processed. The response includes a key derived for each of a portion of the plurality of UEs using a UE ID and the TMGI. A DL NAS message and an N2 message are encoded for the plurality of UEs and a base station, respectively. The DL NAS message and the N2 message include the derived key.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for application function (AF) key generation and AF key renewal. A user equipment device (UE) may communicate with an application function (AF) via a radio access network (RAN) using a first AF key and determine that the first AF key has expired. The UE may derive a second AF key based on at least an Architecture for Authentication and Key Management for Applications (AKMA) anchor key (KAKMA) and a counter parameter and communicate with the AF via the RAN using the second AF key. At least one of the UE, the AF, and/or an AKMA Anchor Function (AAnF) may be configured to monitor expiration of the first AF key based on an associated lifetime of the first AF key. The first and second AF keys may be derived using a key derivation function that includes at least one variable parameter.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) includes first and second subscriber identity modules (SIMs), possibly subscribed to different carriers. When the first SIM is in a connected state and the second SIM is in an idle state, the UE may need to periodically tune away a radio from a first frequency used for communication under the first SIM to a second frequency used for idle mode activity under the second SIM. The UE may provide to the network of the first SIM the second SIMs traffic activity pattern and/or serving frequency so that the network may provide coordinated configuration and/or scheduling for the UE device, e.g., in order to make the action of tuning away (and tuning back) the radio more efficient and/or to decrease the network impact of such radio tune aways (e.g., to decrease wasted uplink scheduling and wasted downlink transmissions for the first SIM).

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform methods to communicate an RRC message (such as an RRC configuration message) having a size that exceeds PDCP SDU size constraints. According to some embodiments, a base station may generate a large RRC message, e.g., by encoding an RRC configuration as a single large RRC message. The base station may then segment the RRC message, e.g., at the RRC layer or the PDCP layer, into a series of PDUs that comply with the size constraints. According to some embodiments, the base station may encode an RRC configuration as a series of RRC messages, each complying with the size constraints. The base station may further provide an indication of when a receiving user equipment should apply the RRC configuration.

Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein for adjusting the conduct of routine communications of safety messages in V2X networks in order to conserve resources in participating power-limited devices while satisfying V2X system latency demands. Scheduling (e.g., timing and/or frequency) of safety message communications performed by certain UE devices participating in a V2X network may be dynamically adjusted according to various criteria, such as factors relating to the DRX cycle schedule, motion or mobility, traffic environment, and/or battery or power capabilities of the UE devices, which may conserve UE resources and power consumption. Certain UE devices may efficiently transmit safety messages to the V2X network using one of several proposed RACH-based procedures. In some embodiments, the size of safety message communications may be reduced through various compression techniques, and/or by reducing the amount of contained information, e.g., by omitting certain parameters, which may reduce the resources consumed by performing safety message communications.
