Abstract: A service management and orchestration (SMO) entity enabling a functional split between a non-real-time (RT) radio access network (RAN) intelligent controller (RIC) and an external artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) server will, during a data collection phase, utilize the SMO entity and the non-RT RIC to collect and process RAN data and non-RAN data and, during a data transfer phase, transfer processed RAN and non-RAN data from the SMO entity to an external AI/ML server via an interface. During a training model input phase, the SMO entity receives a trained AI/ML model, metadata, and training results from the external AI/ML server via an interface and, during a configuration phase, the SMO entity uses the trained AI/ML model within the SMO entity and the non-RT RIC to transfer configuration parameters to a near-RT RIC.

Abstract: Devices and methods for inter-network access management in an shared spectrum wireless communication systems. A method for a method for operating a network entity in a wireless communication system of shared spectrum resources includes transmitting, to a set of neighbor network entities in the wireless communication system, a coordination request message indicating an intended transmission power for a data transmission by the network entity; and receiving, from at least one of the set of neighbor network entities, a coordination response message in response to the coordination request message. The method further includes determining resources of the shared spectrum resources to use for the data transmission based on the intended transmission power and the coordination response message; and transmitting, to at least one terminal in a cell of the network entity, the data transmission based on the determined resources.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for neighbor discovery and wireless inter-connection in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a base station (BS) in the wireless communication network includes generating measurement information regarding neighboring BSs of the BS in the wireless communication network; determining a first parent BS of the neighboring BSs to connect to based on the measurement information; performing an initial access procedure with the first parent BS to connect to the first parent BS; identifying an end-to-end route for the BS for transfer of data between a user equipment (UE) and a gateway via the wireless communication network; and transferring the data between the gateway and the UE based on the identified end-to-end route.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for handling radio link failure (RLF) in a wireless communication network. A method for operating a base station (BS) includes detecting occurrence of a RLF on a backhaul link with a parent BS of the BS and transmitting to a wireless communication device connected to the BS a first notification of the RLF indicating to hold data to be transmitted from the wireless communication device to the BS. The method further includes determining whether connection to a core network entity in the wireless communication network can be reestablished and transmitting to the wireless communication device a second notification based on the reestablishment determination.

Abstract: A base station (BS) in a wireless communication network for bandwidth allocation requests (BARs) and method of operating the BS. The method includes receiving an uplink (UL) BAR for an amount of UL resources for transmission of UL data to the BS and determining, based at least in part on the UL BAR, an amount of backhaul resources for transmission of backhaul data from the BS to a parent BS of the BS via a wireless backhaul connection. The method further includes receiving the UL data; transmitting, to the parent BS at least before reception of the UL data is complete, a first BAR indicating the determined amount of the backhaul resources; and transmitting the received UL data to the parent BS via the wireless backhaul connection based on the first BAR.
