    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described that support techniques for wireless communications using multiple radio access technologies (RATs). Described techniques provide for dual-connectivity (DC), carrier aggregation, or both, in which different carriers are provided via different RATs. A multi-RAT DC configuration may include separate network entities that provide communications for different cell groups for different RATs, where dynamic power control may be implemented across RATs. Additionally, or alternatively, a multi-RAT carrier aggregation techniques may provide separate component carriers configured for carrier aggregation, where different component carriers that use different RATs. Combinations of DC and carrier aggregation may be provided, in which a cell group of a DC configuration may include multiple component carriers in a carrier aggregation scheme.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device allocated two sets of non-contiguous frequency domain resources may divide a set of modulation symbols associated with a codeword into two subsets of modulation symbols. The wireless device may map the two subsets of modulation symbols into two sets of pre-discrete Fourier transform (DFT) resource elements (REs). The wireless device may pad the pre-DFT REs according to a block based scheme or a comb based scheme. The wireless device may perform a first DFT on the first set of pre-DFT REs and a second DFT on the second set of pre-DFT REs to generate first and second sets of frequency domain samples. The wireless device may perform an inverse fast Fourier transform on the first and second sets of frequency domain samples to generate a time domain waveform that may have a low peak to average power ratio.

One method for wireless communication includes transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), an indication of a control channel subcarrier spacing to be used by the UE; and transmitting a control message having a subcarrier spacing in accordance with the indication.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may allocate a set of information bits into multiple subsets of bits corresponding to channel instances of a channel. The transmitting device may encode a first subset of bits according to a first channel coding scheme for a first channel instance and a second subset of bits according to a second channel coding scheme for a second channel instance. The transmitting device may input encoded subsets of bits to a polarizing transform, which may output a set of encoded polarized bits that are transmitted to a receiving device. Upon reception of the encoded polarized bits, the receiving device may apply a depolarizing transform to obtain multiple subsets of bits corresponding to channel instances of the channel, and may decode each subset of bits according to a respective channel coding scheme.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may monitor a search space of a control channel for at least one downlink transmission. The UE may perform a plurality of decoding operations on a plurality of decoding candidates associated with the downlink control information format transmitted in a plurality of transmission time intervals (TTIs). In some cases, the plurality of decoding operations may comprise performing a first decoding on a first decoding candidate received in a current TTI, the first decoding operation applying a first descrambling code to the first decoding candidate, and performing a second decoding operation on a combined decoding candidate that comprises soft combined information from the first and second decoding candidate, the second decoding candidate received in a prior TTI.
