Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reducing a quantity of data sent carrier aggregation (CA) related capability reporting by a UE operating in a cell using full dimension multiple-input multiple-output (FD-MIMO) techniques. In an exemplary method, a base station obtains a relative weight of baseband processing for a component carrier (CC) configured for full-dimension multiple-input multiple-output (FD-MIMO) communications for a user equipment (UE); determines, based on the relative weight, to enable FD-MIMO downlink (DL) transmissions to the UE via the CC; and transmits an FD-MIMO transmission via the CC to the UE.

Abstract: A base station may calculate a scheduling value based on at least one of a number of groups associated with a set of UEs operating on a cell provided by the base station a radio frame number, or a subframe number. The base station may send, based on the calculated scheduling value, at least one NRS in at least one PO on a narrowband control channel. A UE may receive, from the base station providing the cell, information associated with at least one PO for the UE. The UE may determine, based on the received information, scheduling information associated with at least one NRS in the at least one PO. The UE may detect the at least one NRS in the at least one PO on a narrowband control channel when the determined scheduling information indicates the at least one NRS is in the at least one PO.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an antenna switching capability for the UE that relates to a capability of the UE to switch an antenna for a plurality of bands that are included in a band combination of a set of band combinations supported by the UE, wherein at least two bands of the plurality of bands correspond to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT respectively. Abstract: In an embodiment, a network component (e.g., eNB) of a terrestrial wireless communication subscriber network determines whether a drone-coupled user equipment (UE) is engaged in a flying state based upon one or more wireless signals transmitted by the drone-coupled UE. The determination can occur in a variety of ways, such as based on a message from the drone-coupled UE itself (e.g., an express flying-state notification from the drone-coupled UE, a request particular to a flying state, a measurement reporting message, an identifier used by the drone-coupled UE, uplink signal strength measurement(s) or uplink AoA measurements, whether any intervening base station(s) were skipped over in conjunction with a handoff of the drone-coupled UE, etc.).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE), such as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (e.g., a source UAV), may initiate a unicast link establishment procedure with another UAV (e.g., a target UAV), which may enable the UAVs to communicate according to an air-to-everything (A2X) service type. The source UAV may transmit a direct communication request (DCR) message to the target UAV that includes an application-layer identifier (ID) that is unique to the target UAV. The source UAV may derive the application-layer ID for the target UAV from a UE-specific ID that is unique to the target UAV. Alternatively, the source UAV may transmit a DCR message that excludes target UAV information. Instead, the DCR message may indicate one or more proximity parameters associated with the source UAV. The UAVs may communicate unicast messages via the unicast link according to A2X configurations and communication parameters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling from a base station that indicates a multicast or broadcast wake up signal (WUS) format. The UE may receive a multicast or broadcast WUS from the base station during a WUS monitoring occasion of a connected mode discontinuous reception (C-DRX) cycle in accordance with the control signaling. The multicast or broadcast WUS may indicate upcoming transmissions for a set of multicast or broadcast services (MBSs). If, for example, the UE is subscribed to a first MBS from the set of MBSs and the multicast or broadcast WUS indicates an upcoming transmission for the first MBS, the UE may monitor for the upcoming transmission during an active duration of the C-DRX cycle. Otherwise, the UE may enter a sleep mode to conserve power.
