Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for defining uplink control channel resources and mapping uplink control channel resources to a user equipment (UE). Approaches described herein include identifying a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format to be used for a subsequent PUCCH transmission by the UE, identifying a PUCCH resource mapping rule based at least in part on the PUCCH format, and determining an uplink transmission resource to be used for the subsequent PUCCH transmission based at least in part on the PUCCH resource mapping rule. The PUCCH resource mapping rule may be explicit and/or implicit.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems (e.g., new radio (NR) wireless communications systems), a base station may serve a large number of user equipment (UEs). The base station may allocate uplink control channel resources to the UEs. A UE may receive, from the base station, a first resource assignment for a first set of symbols. The UE may also receive, from the base station, a second resource assignment for a second set of symbols, where the first set of symbols and the second set of symbols include an overlapping set of symbols. The UE may modify first resources for the first resource assignment, second resources for the second resource assignment, or both. The UE may then transmit first information based on the first resource assignment.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, while the UE is using a first modulation order for a physical uplink control channel, a signaling message that identifies a second modulation order, for the physical uplink control channel. The UE may provide the physical uplink control channel using the second modulation order. In some aspects, a base station may provide, while a UE is using a first modulation order for a physical uplink control channel, a signaling message that identifies a second modulation order, for the physical uplink control channel. The base station may receive the physical uplink control channel using the second modulation order. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may map a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) sequence to a first symbol in a set of resource blocks (RBs) of an uplink long burst, and the first symbol may occur at the beginning of the uplink long burst. The DMRS sequence may be “front-loaded” in the uplink long burst. The DMRS sequence may be dependent upon RB locations. When the DMRS sequence is mapped to the beginning of an uplink long burst, uplink control information (UCI) may be mapped in a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH). A UE may map UCI in a PUSCH after the DMRS sequence is mapped to the beginning of the uplink long burst. When the base station receives an uplink long burst including the front-loaded DMRS and the UCI mapped in the PUSCH, the base station may identify the DMRS for channel estimation/interference cancelation of the UCI carried on the PUSCH.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit uplink transmissions according to a frequency hopping pattern. The UE may identify that a first set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to a base station by a first set of resources (e.g., a first set of slots, a first set of frequency resources) as indicated by the frequency hopping pattern. The UE may further identify, based on the frequency hopping pattern, that a second set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to the base station by a second set of resources (e.g., a second set of slots, a second set of frequency resources). The first set of slots and the second set of slots may each include more than one slot. Additionally, the first and second set of resources may be within a same bandwidth part or in different bandwidth parts.

The indication may be a DCI field configured for indicating full-duplexing, or the DCI field may be an existing DCI field configured to also indicate full-duplexing. The UE may identify a set of parameters associated with the full-duplex operation of the first message based on receiving the DCI message that includes the indication, and the UE may communicate the first message using the set of parameters associated with the full-duplex operation and based on the indication included in the DCI message.

The method includes defining a timing advance configuration for a radio access network that employs a modulation scheme with scalable numerology, determining timing advance parameters consistent with the timing advance configuration for a user equipment (UE) that is in communication with the radio access network, and transmitting the timing advance parameters to the UE during an initial access procedure involving the UE or while the UE is in a connected state in the radio access network. The timing advance configuration may be defined to accommodate a numerology used by the radio access network.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a UE. The apparatus may generate a reference signal using a base sequence obtained from a table, the table including a plurality of base sequences that each have a peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) metric below a threshold. Then, the apparatus transmits the reference signal to a base station. The reference signal may be multiplexed with a data transmission.
