Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit buffer status information using configured periodic uplink resources. For example, a base station may configure dedicated periodic uplink resources, periodic random access resources, or periodic uplink grants to enable the UE to transmit the buffer status information. In some cases, the periodic random access resources may enable the UE to transmit a first message of a four-step or two-step random access procedure to indicate the buffer status information. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may configure a type of scheduling request for the UE to transmit that can indicate whether a buffer size falls within a range, where the base station then can more accurately allocate uplink resources in an uplink grant for the UE to transmit the uplink data based on receiving this type of scheduling request.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless device are described. A wireless device may receive a configuration for a data radio bearer associated with voice traffic in a wireless communications network. In some examples, the configuration may indicate one or more parameters associated with the voice traffic. Additionally, or alternatively, the wireless device may receive a configuration for a data radio bearer and a configured grant associated with voice traffic. The wireless device may identify a mapping between a configured grant identifier and the data radio bearer based on the configuration In some examples, the wireless device may generate a transport block including the voice traffic based on the one or more parameters associated with the voice traffic or the mapping between the configured grant identifier and the data radio bearer. The wireless device may then transmit the generated transport block including the voice traffic.

The physical layer feedback may be communicated to the transmitting device in higher layer communications, such as in a medium access control (MAC) layer control element (CE), where the MAC layer is a higher layer than the physical layer in a multi-layer protocol stack of the UE and base station. The physical layer feedback may be communicated after being triggered by one or more conditions at the UE or base station.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some networks, a user equipment (UE) may perform radio link monitoring according to one or more radio link monitoring configurations. The UE may select a radio link monitoring configuration from a first radio link monitoring configuration associated with radio link monitoring over a duration that a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process is enabled and a second radio link monitoring configuration associated with radio link monitoring over a duration that the HARQ process is disabled. The UE may monitor reference signals using the selected radio link monitoring configuration, and may determine a radio link failure, a beam failure, or both has occurred based on monitoring the one or more reference signals using the selected radio link monitoring configuration. The UE may subsequently transmit a measurement report based on determining the radio link failure, the beam failure, or both.

The UE may be configured to operate in an idle state, an inactive state, or a power-saving state for a time interval which is based on the satellite visit time. The UE may then be configured to monitor for one or more broadcast signals associated with the one or more satellites, one or more network entities, or both, following an end of the time interval which is based on the satellite visit time.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and a satellite of a non-terrestrial network (NTN) may establish communications on a beam of the satellite. The UE may receive, on a first carrier of a first set of carriers associated with a first beam, a configuration for the first set of carriers associated with the first beam and a second set of carriers associated with a second beam. The first carrier may be used to send a first set of synchronization signals, and a second carrier of the second set of carriers may be used to send a second set of synchronization signals. The UE may identify some system information associated with the second set of carriers based on the configuration and reselect to the second beam based on the configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may determine a position (e.g., a global navigation satellite system (GNSS)) position of the UE based on a relative position of the UE to another UE. For example, a first UE may determine (e.g., calculate, receive) a relative position of the first UE to a second UE that is selected from a set of UEs including the first UE and the second UE to perform a position acquisition procedure to determine a position of the second UE. The first UE may determine (e.g., calculate, receive) its position based on the relative position of the first UE to the second UE and the position of the second UE and may reset a timer that indicates for the first UE to perform a position acquisition procedure upon expiration of the timer.

Abstract: A method for wireless communication is presented. The method includes receiving pre-configured uplink resource (PUR) configuration information including one or more least significant bits (LSBs) of a hyper system frame number (H-SFN). The method also includes determining a PUR start time based on the H-SFN identified by the one or more LSBs. The method further includes transmitting data to a base station on a PUR identified in the PUR configuration information at the PUR start time.
