Abstract: Computer readable media, methods, and apparatuses for centralized channel access for primary and secondary channels are disclosed. An apparatus is disclosed comprising memory and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to encode a schedule of one or more resource allocations, wherein each resource allocation comprises a type of allocation, a bandwidth, an indication of a channel, a source association identification (AID), a destination AID, an allocation start, and a duration. The type of allocation may be a service period (SP) or a contention-based access period (CBAP). The channel may be an indication of a basic service set (BSS) or a personal BSS (PBSS) primary channel, BSS or PBSS secondary channel, or BSS or PBSS tertiary channel. The processing circuitry may be configured to transmit the schedule to one or more stations identified by the source AID and the destination AID of the one or more resource allocations.

Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a trigger frame (TF) that indicates resource units (RUs) that are available for contention based access by STAs for a fine timing measurement (FTM) protocol. The AP may attempt to decode one or more initial fine timing measurement request (iFTMR) frames received in the indicated RUs. The AP may transmit a broadcast acknowledgement (ACK) frame that indicates whether at least one iFTMR frame was decoded. The AP may, for a decoded iFTMR frame: allocate the RU corresponding to the decoded iFTMR frame to a corresponding STA for the FTM protocol; and transmit, in the corresponding RU, an initial fine timing measurement (iFTM) frame that includes an identifier of the corresponding STA.

Abstract: An apparatus of a wireless communications device to transmit a sounding announcement frame (SAF) for use in a round-trip estimation to a receiving station, and associated method are provided. The apparatus is configured to encode an encoded field of the SAF that is one of a frame control field (FCF) or a sounding dialog token field (SDTF) of a null data packet announcement (NDPA) packet that forms the SAF to indicate to the receiving station that a communication different from a trigger frame may follow. The apparatus is also configured to configure the wireless device to transmit the NDPA packet to one or more stations.

Abstract: Techniques for power saving by remote wireless mobile devices are provided, in particular by stations (STAs) during downlink (DL) multiple-user multiple-input and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmissions in an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11ay network when reverse direction (RD) transmissions are either enabled and not enabled. Various embodiments enable each STA in a group of STAs to determine an order in which the STAs are requested to send a block acknowledgement (BACK) and which STAs will be granted an RD transmission. Further, a duration of each RD transmission is provided to each STA. Based on the provided information, each STA can determine times to enter a power saving mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

The processing circuitry is configured to decode a trigger frame from an access point for an uplink communication, the trigger frame comprising an uplink resource allocation for the station, the uplink resource allocation including common information and per station information, the common information including an indication of a maximum receive power at the access point, the per station information comprising an identification of the station, and an indication of a resource unit (RU). The processing circuitry may be further configured to: encode an uplink (UL) physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU)(UL-PPDU) in accordance with the indication of the RU. The processing circuitry may be further configured to: determine a transmit power for the UL-PPDU based on the maximum receive power.

Abstract: Methods and devices are described for providing wireless stations (STAs) with two sets of enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameters. Legacy EDCA parameters that are for single user (SU) operations and may be used by both high-efficiency (HE) STAs and legacy STAs without multi-user (MU) capability. MU EDCA parameters are defined to be more restrictive than legacy EDCA parameters in favoring MU operations. Embodiments are described that define sets of rules for regulating how STAs capable of both SU and MU uplink operations can use the different sets of EDCA parameters.
