Abstract: Devices and methods of reducing overall Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) of user equipment (UE) using a large amount of carrier aggregation are generally described. The UE may receive a subframe from an enhanced NodeB (eNB). The subframe may contain a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) formed in accordance with a Downlink Control information (DCI) format. The DCI format may comprise a Downlink Assignment Index (DAI) for Time Division Duplexed (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplexed (FDD) operation. The UE may determine, dependent on the DAI, a number and ordering of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) bits to be transmitted on a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) and subsequently transmit the HARQ-ACK bits.

Abstract: Embodiments of a Generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The gNB may map data symbols to resource elements (REs) of virtual resource blocks (VRBs). The gNB may interleave the data symbols, on a per-VRB basis, to spatial layers of a multi-layer multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. The data symbols may be interleaved based on different interleave patterns of VRB indexes for the spatial layers. The gNB may map the interleaved data symbols of the spatial layers to REs of physical resource blocks (PRBs) for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission.

The UE may scale the PUSCH block in the first sub-band by the first pre-coder. The UE may scale the PUSCH block in the second sub-band by the second pre-coder.

The one or more processors are configured to generate a physical random access channel (PRACH) within a slot at a medium access control (MAC) layer, generate a scheduling request (SR) within the slot at the MAC layer, determine a PRACH prioritization and an SR prioritization at a physical layer according to a prioritization rule; and provide the PRACH and the SR to the RF interface for transmission according to the prioritization rule.

Abstract: Technology for transmitting physical broadcast channel (PBCH) contents is disclosed. An evolved node B (eNB) may configure one or more repetitions of PBCH content for transmission, to a user equipment (UE), from a cell at a selected time interval. The eNB may select a scrambling code for the one or more repetitions of PBCH content transmitted from the cell. The eNB may apply the scrambling code to one or more repetitions of PBCH content.

Abstract: User equipment (UE), an enhanced NodeB (eNB) and method of improving positioning accuracy and enabling vertical domain positioning of the UE are generally described. The UE may receive a prsInfo control signal having at least one PRS configuration and subsequently a plurality of Reference Signals (RSs). The RSs may have a first Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) pattern in a first set of PRS subframes and a second PRS pattern in a second set of PRS subframes received prior to a subsequent first set of PRS subframes. The RSs may have a vertical positioning RS and a lateral positioning RS. The UE may measure PRS resource elements (REs), each having a PRS, in the first and second PRS pattern. The UE may transmit a measurement of the PRS in the first and second PRS pattern. The patterns may enable horizontal and vertical positioning to be determined.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for transmitting uplink control information (UCI) over an OFDMA-based uplink. In some embodiments, UCI symbols are mapped to resource elements (REs) in the time/frequency resource grid to maximize frequency diversity. In some embodiments, UCI is mapped in a manner that takes into account channel estimation performance by mapping UCI symbols to those REs that are closest (in terms of OFDM subcarriers/symbols) to REs that carry reference signals.
