Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose an SDN-based ARP implementation method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a controller, an ARP request sent by a first switch, and when it is determined that no ARP entry corresponding to the ARP request exists locally, sending, to the first switch, an instruction configured to instruct the first switch to flood the ARP request. In this way, the ARP request can be broadcast to an entire network by means of message forwarding between switches.

Various embodiments provide a method including receiving, by a forwarder, rule modification information sent by a controller. The rule modification information includes rule description match information and action instruction modification information. The rule description match information is used to determine a to-be-modified processing rule. Rule description information of the to-be-modified processing rule accords with the rule description match information, and the action instruction modification information is used to instruct to modify an action instruction specified in an instruction set of the to-be-modified processing rule. The method also includes modifying, by the forwarder, when the forwarder determines that rule description information of a first processing rule meets the rule description match information, an action instruction specified in an instruction set of the first processing rule according to the action instruction modification information.

The method includes: acquiring, by the forwarder, packet reporting control information including a reporting control indication and a control threshold; and stopping, by the forwarder according to the reporting control indication in a case in which a control parameter reaches or exceeds the control threshold, sending a packet reporting message related to one flow.

The present invention discloses a protocol processing method applied when control is decoupled from forwarding, a control plane device, and a forwarding plane device. The method includes: causing a control plane device to send an indication to a forwarding plane device according to a processing manner of a packet service processing protocol, and to deliver a negotiation parameter of the packet service processing protocol to the forwarding plane device; and causing the control plane device to receive a negotiation result of the packet service processing protocol, and to create a data path between a user equipment and a network device. The negotiation result is uploaded by the forwarding plane device and obtained according to information that includes the negotiation parameter of the packet service processing protocol.

An ARP implementation method, a switch device, and a control device are disclosed. The method includes: receiving, by a switch device, an ARP packet; sending, by the switch device, an information reporting message including the ARP packet to a control device; and implementing, by the switch device, the ARP according to a MAC address included in an information delivery message sent by the control device, where the information delivery message is a message sent by the control device according to the information reporting message.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a processing method of gateway charging and a gateway, where a gateway is divided into two sub-gateways. The method includes, detecting, by a first sub-gateway, a current status of an access user if the first sub-gateway receives an online message, a newly establishing bearer message or a status change indication message of at least one access user. The method further includes sending, a first message to the second sub-gateway if the first sub-gateway determines that the at least one access user complies with a predefined rule of charging delayed reporting, where the first message indicates a charging policy corresponding to a current status of the at least one access user, and indicates, to the second sub-gateway, a delay of sending measured charging information, and receiving, charging information corresponding to all the statuses of the at least one access user that meets a reporting condition.

The method includes sending, to a gateway forwarding plane, a charging information identification set used for identifying charging information, saving first charging information sent by the gateway forwarding plane, where the first charging information carries a first charging information identification, which is an element in the charging information identification set, receiving second charging information sent by the gateway forwarding plane and saved by the gateway forwarding plane, where the second charging information carries a second charging information identification, which is an element in the charging information identification set, and combining the first charging information and the second charging information according to the first charging information identification and the second charging information identification. In this way, a disaster recovery capability can be effectively improved and charging reliability can be ensured.
