摘要: A system for controlling the circulation of air in an indoor area of a structure including a door or window. A fan for circulating the air within the indoor area is combined with a first sensor for sensing a temperature of a surface of an object in the indoor area. A controller controls the operation of the fan based on the surface temperature sensed by the first sensor, and also regulates a radiant heater for heating the surface or the object. The controller may also or alternatively be adapted for controlling the fan based on an indication that it is raining external to the structure, an HVAC unit, or a dehumidifier. Related methods are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for controlling an air conditioner includes obtaining initial indoor ambient temperature and humidity, obtaining an initial dew point temperature according to the initial indoor ambient temperature and humidity, controlling a temperature of an indoor heat exchanger coil to be equal to the initial dew point temperature and maintaining a current operating frequency of a compressor unchanged, obtaining a current indoor ambient temperature, judging whether the current indoor ambient temperature is lower than or equal to a set temperature, if so, obtaining a current indoor ambient humidity and obtaining a current moisture content and a current dew point temperature according to the current indoor ambient temperature and the current indoor ambient humidity, and controlling the air conditioner to perform humidification or dehumidification according to the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger coil, the current moisture content, and the current dew point temperature.

摘要: Smoke and/or soot damage to an interior of a property, such as a residential building or home, may be mitigated. A controller is in communication with a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system of the property. The controller is configured to receive an alert and/or intelligent home telematics data generated based upon a potential presence of smoke in a location associated with the property, either exterior or interior to the property. In response to receiving the alert and/or intelligent home telematics data, the controller is further configured deactivate an air circulation function of the HVAC system to mitigate smoke or fire damage to the property. The intelligent home telematics data may be generated by various smoke, fire, audio, visual, infrared, motion, and/or other smart sensors mounted about the interior and/or exterior of the property.

摘要: A method of conditioning an environment includes generating, by a group feedback analysis system, a first comfort limit based on a first plurality of data points corresponding to user feedback of a group of users in an environment conditioned by an environmental conditioning system, and each associated with temperature and humidity environmental criterions. The method further includes generating a second comfort limit based on a second plurality of data points corresponding to user feedback of the group of users, and associated with the temperature and humidity environmental criterions. The method identifies a constrained comfort zone defined by the first comfort limit, the second comfort limit, predefined lower and upper bounds for the temperature environmental criterion, and predefined lower and upper bounds for the humidity environmental criterion. The environmental system is controlled to maintain the temperature and humidity environmental criterions within the constrained comfort zone.

摘要: An environmental control system for a telecom shelter integrates with a native HVAC system for exchanging interior air in a conditioned space in a machine room, telecom enclosure, or other closed machine environment by forcing or directing cooler outside air to replace interior air without active refrigeration by the native HVAC system. Primary cooling and heating of the conditioned space in the enclosure is performed by an exchange system and control logic that identifies, based on sensory input, when outside air exchange is more efficient than native AC (Air Conditioner) operation. The native AC system is suppressed or inhibited, and primary environmental control performed by fan driven exchange of outside air with air in the enclosure. Sensors and timers identify appropriate periods to defer control to the native AC system for cooling demand in excess of outside air exchange capability, and also identify ongoing suppression, or “takeback” of cooling control from the native system when erroneous, erratic or mistaken operation results in excessive or insufficient cooling, resulting from such factors as equipment failure, operator error, and environmental/disaster occurrences.

The cooling circuit includes a condenser, a compressor, an evaporator, and a multi-directional valve, and the HVAC system is configured to circulate refrigerant through the cooling circuit in a cooling operating mode. The reheat circuit includes a reheat heat exchanger, the compressor, the evaporator, and the multi-directional valve, and the HVAC system is configured to circulate refrigerant through the reheat circuit in a reheat operating mode. The control system is configured to execute a switch between the cooling operating mode and the reheat operating mode by sending a signal to the multi-directional valve to adjust from a first position to a second position, interrupting a voltage provided to the compressor at a first time, and restoring application of the voltage to the compressor at a second time that is subsequent to the first time.
