    Abstract: A communication scheme and system for converging a 5th generation (5G) communication system for supporting a data rate higher than that of a 4th generation (4G) system with an Internet of Things (IoT) technology are provided. The present disclosure is applicable to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology. Data transmission/reception methods of a base station and a terminal in a wireless communication system are also provided. The method includes transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), bandwidth part (BWP) configuration information by higher layer signaling, transmitting, to the UE, downlink control information including information indicating an active BWP based on the BWP configuration information, identifying grant free resource configuration information associated with the active BWP, and receiving a data based on the grant free resource configuration information.
