    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes: receiving, from a base station, configuration information on a network energy saving mode; identifying that the network energy saving mode is applied; identifying an uplink transmission power for transmitting an uplink signal on an uplink channel in the network energy saving mode or a quasi co-location (QCL) relation of at least one of downlink signal or a downlink channel based on a reference signal in the network energy saving mode; and transmitting, to the base station, the uplink signal on the uplink channel based on the uplink transmission power or receiving, from the base station, the downlink signal on a downlink channel based on the QCL relation.
