摘要: Methods, systems, and media for providing distributed database access during a network split. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving, at a node of N nodes, configuration information of the database which indicates which of the N nodes stores replicated shards of the database including master shards and corresponding slave shards, N being an odd number greater than one; identifying, after a network split, a subset of the N nodes which are capable of communicating with each other; receiving, by a proxy, a request to perform a write operation to an object in the database; determining that a second node included in the subset of the N nodes stores a master shard including the object; determining that the subset includes at least (N+1)/2 nodes; and causing the request to perform the write operation to be routed to the second node.

摘要: An apparatus and method for IP transit is described. Embodiments include a platform for routing IP traffic in real time from at least one network user to a plurality of internet links. Embodiments further include assigning different ranks to different internet links based on network monitoring. In one embodiment, a system for routing internet traffic includes an internet route optimizer to generate routing instructions for incoming data packets using financial costs of routing data packets on the internet links, the traffic condition information corresponding to the internet links, and the types of data of the incoming data packets. In another embodiment, a method to generate a routing instruction to route an internet data packet uses financial costs of routing data packets on the internet links serving the end destination, traffic condition information of the internet links serving the end destination, and the type of data of the incoming data packet.

摘要: Methods and systems for information state sharing and consistency maintenance in a distributed and decentralized network are presented. At a first node of a network, a first information state message (ISM) in a hypothesis phase is generated. The first ISM is propagated to at least one node of a spanning tree of the network, the spanning tree having a root at the first node. A verification opinion is received from the at least one node indicating if a state in the first ISM is verified by the at least one node. A consensus regarding the state in the first ISM is determined based on the verification opinion from the at least one node. A second ISM indicating a confirmed phase is propagated to the spanning tree if the consensus on the state of the ISM is reached.

摘要: In one embodiment, attack observations by a first node are provided to a user interface device regarding an attack detected by the node. Input from the user interface device is received that confirms that a particular attack observation by the first node indicates that the attack was detected correctly by the first node. Attack observations by one or more other nodes are provided to the user interface device. Input is received from the user interface device that confirms whether the attack observations by the first node and the attack observations by the one or more other nodes are both related to the attack. The one or more other nodes are identified as potential voters for the first node in a voting-based attack detection mechanism based on the attack observations from the first node and the one or more other nodes being related.

摘要: A system and method for primary switch election in peer groups includes a switch. The switch includes a control unit, first ports coupling the switch to a peer switch via first network links forming an inter-chassis link (ICL), and second ports coupling the switch to a plurality of first switches using a plurality of second network links. The second network links are part of a plurality of virtual link trunking (VLT) link aggregation groups (LAGs) wherein each of the VLT LAGs is associated with a respective one of the first switches. The control unit is configured to exchange dynamic election criteria with the peer switch, determine whether the switch is a primary or a secondary switch based on the exchanged dynamic election criteria, determine whether the ICL is down, and shut down the second network links when the ICL is down and the switch is the secondary switch.

摘要: A method for network controller initialization that includes identifying a controller connected to a network as a primary controller that manages switches in the network. One or more other controllers connected to the network are identified as secondary controllers. A failover priority table is created. The failover table indicates an order that the one or more other controllers will replace the controller as the primary controller in the event that the controller enters a failure mode. The failover priority table is broadcast to the switches in the network.
