    摘要: A portable rope drive and guiding apparatus operable by a single user is disclosed. The apparatus includes a receptacle defined by a first side wall, a second side wall, a first end wall and a second end wall, with a vertical opening between a top edge and a bottom edge for receiving the rope. The apparatus further includes a powered drive wheel mounted between the first side wall and the second side wall, and having a friction-bearing outer perimeter to drive the rope through the receptacle. The apparatus further include a guide wheel mounted between the first side wall and the second side wall, opposite the drive wheel, the guide wheel having a concave outer perimeter that corresponds to and guides the rope through the receptacle as the rope is driven by the drive wheel.

    摘要: A retractable spool reel integrated inside of or attached to a waterfowl decoy comprises a spool and a locking assembly housed inside an internal compartment such that a weighted line wound around the spool may be locked in place at a desired length. The weighted line may be pulled until the locking assembly is set in the locked position. The pulling of the weighted line unwinds the spool and coils a flat spring integrated into the spool. The uncoiling of the flat spring once the line is released allows the line to retract back into the spool once the locking assembly is removed from the locked position.

    摘要: A retractable pet leash assembly includes a housing, a spool, a leash and a braking assembly. The spool is disposed inside the housing and biased by a spring and includes braking notches. The leash is wound about the spool. The braking assembly includes a pawl, a pawl spring and an operating member. The pawl selectively engages the braking notches, the pawl spring biases the pawl towards engagement with the spool. The operating member moves the pawl between first and second positions to move the pawl into and out of the path of the braking notches. The operating member has a pawl non-engaged position in which the pawl is in the first position, a first pawl engaged position in which the pawl is in the second position, and a second pawl engaged position in which the operating member is retained while the pawl is in the second position.

    摘要: The present invention relates to decoys for simulating the movement of animals on land, air, or water. The invention includes a small, enclosed, and portable unit that comprises a motor, a rechargeable power supply, a timing control mechanism, and a spool attached to a line. The line extends from the unit and attaches to one or more animal decoys and, at the end, to an anchoring mechanism (e.g., an anchor placed in the water or a tether attached to a tree or other stationary support). The anchoring mechanism preferably is attached to the line via a bungee cord or other flexible connection that exhibits elasticity. The preferred embodiment of the invention comprises four main parts: (1) a string portion, which extends from an anchor system to a mechanical unit; (2) one or more animal decoys attached to the string portion; (3) an anchor assembly attached to one end of the string assembly for creating tension in the string assembly and securing its position; and (4) a mechanical unit containing a low-power, motorized spool assembly, a rechargeable power supply, a spool, and a timing mechanism for repeatedly winding and releasing the string portion.

    摘要: A power generation apparatus and method comprises at least one gyroglider rotary wing flying at an altitude above the nap of the earth. A strong and flexible tether, connected to the gyroglider frame is pulled with a force generated by the rotary wing. The force is transmitted to a ground station that converts the comparatively linear motion of the tether being pulled upward with a lifting force. The linear motion is transferred to a rotary motion at the ground station to rotate an electrical generator. The tether is retrieved and re-coiled about a drum by controlling the gyroglider to fly down at a speed and lift force that permit recovery of the gyroglider at a substantially reduced amount of retrieval force compared to the lifting force during payout of the tether. Thus, the net difference in force results in a net gain of energy.
