    Abstract: Method and apparatus to use different GI sequences for different FDM UEs. The apparatus calculates a GI of each UE from a set of UEs based at least on a delay spread associated with each UE from the set of UEs. The apparatus multiplexes data and the GI of each respective UE from the set of UEs to generate a waveform. The apparatus transmits the waveform to the set of UEs. The apparatus may receive, from each UE from the set of UEs, the delay spread associated with each UE from the set of UEs. The apparatus may multiplex the GI of each respective UE from the set of UEs prior to performing a DFT operation on the GI and the data. The apparatus may multiplex the GI of each respective UE from the set of UEs after performing an IDFT operation to generate the waveform.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), an indication of a dynamic switch between slot formats. The base station and the UE may communicate first data in one or more first slots according to a first slot format. The first slot format may be a first cyclic prefix-based or guard interval-based slot format. The base station may transmit control signaling to the UE to indicate a second slot format different from the first slot format. The second slot format may be a second cyclic prefix-based or guard interval-based slot format. The UE and the base station may switch to communicating second data in one or more second slots in accordance with the second slot format based on the control signaling.

    Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium of wireless communication for applying resource element (RE) skipping to a symbol where a beam change is to occur. A transmitter and a receiver determine that a beam change is to occur during the symbol. The transmitter allocates bits to a subset of REs for the symbol in a frequency domain allocation. Each RE of the subset is spaced apart by a number of empty REs. The transmitter performs an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) on the REs to generate a time domain signal including a number of repetitions of a transmitted waveform. The receiver receives the time domain signal during at least a portion of the symbol. The receiver performs a fast Fourier transform (FFT) on the time domain signal and determines transmitted bits or a channel from the subset of REs output from the FFT.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a subcarrier spacing (SCS) for communications in a transmission time interval (TTI), such as a half-subframe, including multiple symbols, corresponding cyclic prefixes, and a padding duration which is at least as long as a symbol duration. The UE may receive a configuration for the padding duration, indicating that at least a portion of the padding duration is reallocated for a reference signal that indicates waveform parameters for one or more symbols of the TTI after the padding duration. The UE may receive the reference signal indicating the waveform parameters during the portion of the padding duration and communicate during the one or more symbols of the TTI according to the waveform parameters.
