Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for design of channel raster for narrowband operation. One example method, performed by a base station, generally includes determining, based on one or more conditions, an exact frequency location of one channel of one or more channels to perform narrowband communications with a user equipment. The method also includes transmitting an indication of the one or more conditions to the user equipment. The method further includes communicating with the UE, based at least in part on the exact frequency location of the one channel.

Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station, a trigger for aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission for a group of component carriers (CCs), and selecting for transmission, by the UE and in response to the trigger, one or more SRS resource sets for each CC of the group of one or more CCs. At least one CC has multiple SRS resource sets configured. The UE transmits, to the base station, an SRS on each CC of the group of CCs based on the selecting. Another method of wireless communication includes transmitting, by a base station to a UE, a trigger for aperiodic SRS transmission for a group of CCs. At least one CC has multiple SRS resource sets configured for the UE. The base station receives, from the UE, one or more SRS on each CC of the group of CCs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that support sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission in low latency wireless transmissions. A set of shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs) for uplink transmissions of a first wireless service may be identified; the set of sTTIs located within subframe time boundaries of a subframe of a second wireless service with a longer TTI than the sTTIs. Two or more sTTIs within the set of sTTIs may be used for SRS transmissions within the subframe time boundaries.

The user equipment may receive a wakeup signal based at least in part on the resource allocation, detect the wakeup signal based at least in part on a preamble of the wakeup signal, and receive a subsequent communication based at least in part on the wakeup signal. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may adjust control overhead assumptions when reporting a channel state indictor (CSI). A base station may configure resource block (RB) sets for the UE by radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The UE may assume that the RB sets as configured are assigned for control information. When the UE reports wideband CSI, it may be assumed that the resources for an RB set are not available for data transmission. Any portion of a band configured for the UE overlapping with an RB set may be considered unavailable for data transmission. The UE may then calculate CSI based on the updated control overhead assumption. In other examples, the UE may make a worst-case assumption for control overhead. In some cases, the UE may assume there is no control overhead.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for multiple physical resource block (PRB) operations for narrowband (NB) systems, such as NB internet-of-things (IoT). In one aspect, a method is provided which may be performed by a wireless device such as a user equipment (UE), which may be an NB-IoT device. The method generally includes performing a cell search based on one or more signals received in an anchor RB within a set of RBs available for narrowband communications with a base station (BS); determining a location of at least one additional RB available for the narrowband communications with the BS based on an indication received in the anchor RB; and performing narrowband communications with the BS using at least one of: the anchor RB or the at least one additional resource block.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are described. A method of wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a synchronization signal within a synchronization signal (SS) block; receiving at least a portion of a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) of the SS block, the PBCH comprising a self-decodable portion and an outside portion; and decoding the PBCH based at least in part on receiving the self-decodable portion of the PBCH. The synchronization signal has a first bandwidth. The self-decodable portion of the PBCH has a second bandwidth substantially within the first bandwidth. The outside portion having a bandwidth that is outside of the second bandwidth and within a PBCH bandwidth, the PBCH bandwidth being greater than the first bandwidth.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first information element (IE) and a second IE, wherein the first IE indicates whether all UEs that do not support cell-specific reference signal (CRS) muting are barred from a carrier and the second IE indicates whether all UEs that support CRS muting are barred from the carrier; and selectively access the carrier based at least in part on at least one of the first IE or the second IE. In some aspects, a UE may determine whether the UE supports cell-specific reference signal (CRS) muting; and transmit, to a base station, a capability report that indicates whether the UE supports CRS muting.
