Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive, from a 4G/LTE device and via a 5G/NR base station, a first handover command message identifying at least one of a measurement configuration or a measurement gap for identifying a 2G/3G cell, wherein the first handover command message is associated with a 5G/NR to 2G/3G handover of the UE via 4G/LTE; transmit, to the 4G/LTE device and via the 5G/NR base station, a measurement report regarding the 2G/3G cell based at least in part on the measurement configuration and/or the measurement gap; and tune to the 2G/3G cell based at least in part on a second handover message, received from the 4G/LTE device via the 5G/NR base station, for performance of the call via the 2G/3G cell. Abstract: An UE transmits at least one UE configuration parameter to a base station comprising at least one preferred parameter for a UE configuration, e.g., in addition to a preferred setting for a delay budget report. The UE then receives a configuration from the base station based, at least in part, on the at least one UE configuration parameter transmitted to the base station. Additionally, a base station receives the at least one UE configuration parameter from a UE comprising at least one preferred parameter for a UE configuration, e.g., in addition to a preferred setting for a delay budget report. The base station then configures the UE using the at least one UE configuration parameter received from the UE.

A set of packets for transmission in a defined sequence can be received where the set of packets includes two or more packets. It can be detected that a packet, of the set of packets, is a prioritized packet type. The packet can be prioritized for transmission ahead of its order in the defined sequence based on the detection of the prioritized packet type. The packet can be transmitted ahead of its order in the defined sequence to an access point.

Abstract: A technique is disclosed to minimize service interruption at a wireless user equipment device during a handover by maintaining dual active connections during the handover. Upon initiating the handover, an initial/first connection with a first access node is maintained while establishing a second connection with a second access node. The user equipment device can receive data over the first connection and second connection during the handover. The first connection may be terminated (by the user equipment device or by timing out due to inactivity) after the handover is completed. Abstract: Techniques for secure control plane communications between a User Equipment (UE) and a gNB are provided. A RAN network entity decides to handover a UE from a source base station (BS) to a target BS, wherein the RAN network entity controls a plurality of BSs including at least one of the source BS or the target BS, and wherein at least a portion of a control plane (CP) protocol layer is implemented at the target BS. The network entity generates at least one key specific to the target BS, based on a master key and a freshness parameter, the master key associated with the network entity. The network entity transmits an indication of the at least one key to the target BS, wherein the target BS exchanges control signaling with the UE based on the CP protocol layer using the at least one key.

Abstract: Aspects encompassing public land mobile network (PLMN) configurations are disclosed. In one example, first and second PLMN configurations are determined, and a parameter having a common identifier between a hybrid PLMN and a PLMN from a different PLMN configuration is identified, such that the hybrid PLMN may connect with a first or second core network type. Inclusion of the common identifier is limited to either the first or second PLMN configuration via an index, and the first and second PLMN configurations are transmitted. In another example, first and second PLMN configurations are received, and a hybrid PLMN in one of the two PLMN configurations is selected. A determination is made whether to use the hybrid PLMN to connect with a first or second core network type. Whether a hybrid PLMN parameter was ascertained via the first or second PLMN configuration is reported. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide procedures for managing secondary eNB (SeNB) radio link failure (S-RLF) in dual connectivity scenarios. A user equipment (UE) may establish communication with a Master Evolved Node B (MeNB) and a Secondary eNB (SeNB). The UE may detect a Radio Link Failure (RLF) of a connection with the SeNB and may transmit an indication of the RLF to the MeNB, in response to the detection. The MeNB may take at least one action to manage the RLF, in response to receiving the indication of the RLF, for example, including transmitting a reconfiguration command to the UE. The SeNB may also detect the RLF and transmit an indication of the RLF to the MeNB over a backhaul connection, in response to the detection.

Abstract: A gateway device detects a trigger associated with a device and, in response, identifies an application service associated with the device, obtains a traffic network policy associated with the application service, and obtains a network access token based on the traffic network policy. The network access token facilitates validating and/or mapping a downlink data packet obtained at the gateway device in user-plane traffic that is destined for the device. The network access token is sent to an entity in control-plane signaling. Subsequently, the gateway device obtains a downlink data packet including the network access token. The gateway device verifies the network access token and/or maps the downlink data packet to the device using data obtained from the network access token. The network access token may be removed from the downlink data packet before the downlink data packet is sent to the device according to the mapping.
