Abstract:
A hard magnetic thin film magnetized in one direction is disposed on or in the vicinity of a magneto-resistive element upon which inclined electrodes are formed. A magnetic field from the hard magnetic film magnetizes the magneto-resistive element stably so that the element has a single magnetic domain. Thus, the magneto-resistive head is remarkably stable with respect to the disturbance magnetic field and inhibits Barkhausen noise from being produced. As a result, the magneto-resistive head reproduces stably and with an improved S/N ratio.
Abstract:
An forming apparatus of the present invention is provided with a waste-toner transport unit that is installed separately from a photoreceptor drum cartridge. The waste-toner transport unit is pivoted so that the photoreceptor drum cartridge is easily removed from a machine main body. This arrangement makes it possible to miniaturize the photoreceptor drum cartridge and to use the waste-toner transport unit repeatedly. In another image forming apparatus of the present invention, a developer-supplying container, a waste-toner container, and a waste-developer container for receiving excessive developer that has been overflown from the developer tank are integrally formed into a container unit. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the volumes of the containers in accordance with the respective supplying quantities of developer. Further, a pressing mechanism is provided so that upon replacing the container unit, the developer tank is brought apart from and close to the photoreceptor drum simultaneously with the pivotal movement of the container unit. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the number of steps that are taken in the replacing operation as well as to prevent misoperations such as caused by negligence of duty in pressing the developer tank toward the photoreceptor.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for measuring the amount of free sulfurous acid and bound sulfurous acid in a sample using a bacterium belonging to Thiobacillus thiooxidans or Thiobacillus ferrooxidans of in which the sample is treated with acid and/or alkali to give free sulfurous acid alone in the sample. Then, the total amount of free sulfurous acid in the sample is measured by an oxidation reaction of free sulfurous acid to sulfuric acid using a bacterium belonging to Thiobacillus thiooxidans or Thiobacillus ferrooxidans.
Abstract:
A fuzzy computer which adopts hardware arrangement to simultaneously execute the upper bound cut, the maximum value operation, and the calculation of the center of gravity by directing attention to that the membership functions are overlapped double or triple at the best with each other when fuzzy operation is carried out, or which adopts software arrangement capable of executing the processing equivalent to the above hardware arrangement by employing a general microprocessor system, then, the number of comparison operation in the upper bound cut and maximum value operation is reduced, accordingly, executing the upper bound cut, the maximum value operation, and the calculation of the center of gravity at higher speed.
Abstract:
A head-lamp having an adjuster construction comprising a pivot portion and an adjusting screw portion, in which a ball joint is provided for at least one of said portions, a part of a carrying surface of the ball joint being formed of a soft elastic member which extends into the region of the ball joint.
Abstract:
An electronic endoscope having a light emitting unit for emitting illuminating light from the tip of the insertable part, a solid state imaging device at the tip for receiving an illuminated light image, a sample-holding circuit for sample-holding an output signal from the solid state imaging device, a light source for such light emitting unit and an iris device in such light source, the iris device comprising a diaphragm device for preventing the spectral characteristics of the endoscope from being changed due to the amount of light reduction which consists of a diaphragm assembly consisting of two dimensionally diaphragm units which consists of light passing openings with small sectional area and light shading parts formed by tubular surfaces surrounding the side surfaces of the openings, positioned in the beam emitted from illuminating lamp, and provided with means for turning diaphragm assembly from a position where the tubular surfaces are in parallel with the axis of the illumination beam to a position where the axes are at an angle.
Abstract:
An information display system for a vehicle includes: a plurality of sensors for detecting various conditions of the vehicle; a display unit for displaying a selected one of a plurality of items of information relating to the conditions of the vehicle as detected by the corresponding sensors; a pair of manual for sequentially shifting the item of information which is currently displayed on the display unit; and a control unit for producing one of the items of information on the display unit according to output from one of the sensors. The control unit is further adapted to change the item of information which is currently displayed to a display of a default item of information, when the current display was manually selected, upon elapsing of a certain time interval after the manual selection of the current item of information for display. The control unit is capable of selecting at least two items of information for display, and the display unit assigns an indicator to each of the selected and displayed items to indicate that an additional item for dispaly exists. Thus, sufficient information which the driver of the vehicle may wish to know can be displayed in a limited space of the display unit.
Abstract:
A paper feeding device for a paper cassette of an image processing apparatus. The paper cassette is mounted at a specific position or the image processing apparatus in a manner permitting the cassette to be pulled out. A preliminary feed roller feeds the paper on the paper cassette toward a feed roller which is normally energized in a paper pressing direction. When the paper cassette is mounted in the image processing apparatus, the document setting board disposed in the paper cassette is upwardly turned by a pressing mechanism. When the paper cassette is pulled out, the feed roller from the paper cassette is turned in reverse direction. A feed channel to guide the paper from the paper cassette is formed in a curved manner, and a normally turned delivery roller is provided inside the curved channel.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus in which a holder, bearing a type carrier thereon, and a carriage, moving along a printing line, are coupled together by means of an engaging member and a coupling plate formed integrally with the holder and the carriage, respectively. The coupling plate has a surface extending along the transfer direction of the carriage and formed with an opening. The engaging member extends transverse to the carriage transfer direction so as to engage the opening. By this engagement, the holder is moved as one with the carriage, with respect to the carriage transfer direction. With respect to a direction transverse to the carriage transfer direction, the holder is allowed to move between a printable position, where the holder is situated close to a platen, and a retracted position, where the holder is situated wide apart from the platen.
Abstract:
A mop adapted to be squeezed by a pair of rollers mounted on the mop itself. The mop has a handle, a wiper, a squeezing cover, and a pair of rollers mounted in oblique guide slits formed in the squeezing cover. When the squeezing cover is moved down the handle, the rollers are guided to move toward each other so that the wiper caught between the rollers will be tightly squeezed by and between the rollers.
