    摘要: A base station is configured to serve a wireless device in a serving cell on a serving frequency. The base station obtains information that indicates one or more non-serving frequencies on which the device is to perform one or more positioning measurements. These positioning measurements are to be used for determining the device's geographic position. For at least one non-serving frequency indicated by the information, the base station configures a measurement gap during which the device is to perform a corresponding positioning measurement. Specifically, the base station configures such measurement gap to occur during a period of time in which a neighboring cell transmits a positioning reference signal over that non-serving frequency. A positioning reference signal is specifically designed to be a signal on which a device performs positioning measurements. Thus, by aligning the measurement gap with a positioning reference signal, the positioning measurements will prove more reliable and accurate.

    摘要: Embodiments include methods, performed by a network node in a wireless network, for positioning a user equipment (UE) based on beams transmitted by the wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from the UE, first positioning measurements of first reference signals (RS) transmitted by the wireless network on a first plurality of beams. Such methods include, based on the first positioning measurements and transmission directions of the first plurality of beams, determining a second plurality of beams that differs from the first plurality of beams by at least one beam (e.g., subset, superset, partially overlapping, etc.). Various ways of obtaining the second plurality of beams are disclosed. Such methods also include obtaining second positioning measurements made by the UE on the second plurality of beams. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a UE, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform such methods.

The UE further receives (303) from the second network node a UL signal switching order. The UE then switches (304) to at least one carrier where the UE does not transmit user data, to transmit the UL signals for positioning purpose. The UE then switches back (305) to a carrier where the UE transmits user data.

    摘要: A wireless device (12A) is configured to determine, for each of one or more links (14), one or more characteristics associated with wireless device positioning performance on the link. In some embodiments, the one or more characteristics include one or more of: geometric dilution of precision, GDOP, characteristics associated with the link; or line-of-sight, LOS, characteristics or non-LOS characteristics of the link. Regardless, the wireless device (12A) may also be configured to transmit control signaling (22) indicating the one or more characteristics determined for each of the one or more links (14). Based on this control signaling (22), a network node (16) may adapt positioning reference signal, PRS, configuration on at least one of the one or more links (14).
