    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for communicating, by a user equipment (UE), over multiple slices. A method that may be performed by the UE includes transmitting, from an operating system (OS) to a modem, an indication of a start network request originating from an application, the transmitting of the indication based on a determination that a traffic descriptor associated with the application is a non-default descriptor. The method may also include determining one or more parameters for establishing a new network connection for the application, the one or more parameters determined based on a routing policy that provides mapping between the traffic descriptor and the one or more parameters.

In some aspects, a broadcast multicast service center (BMSC) device may receive, from a user equipment (UE) and via a first base station associated with a first radio access technology (RAT), a request for evolved multicast broadcast multimedia service (eMBMS) content. The BMSC device may transmit, to an access and mobility management function (AMF) device, a redirection request or a handover request, associated with the UE, from the first base station to a second base station associated with a second RAT. The BMSC device may transmit, to the UE and based at least in part on the UE being redirected or handed over to the second base station, the eMBMS content via the second base station.     Abstract: Aspects directed towards Quality of Service (QoS) flow remapping are disclosed. In an example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first data radio bearer (DRB) to another DRB, a Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP) control protocol data unit (PDU) is generated indicating that a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow has been transmitted on the first DRB. The SDAP control PDU is then transmitted via the first DRB. In another example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first DRB to another DRB, an end marker parameter is set in an SDAP header of a first SDAP data PDU received from an upper layer after the mapping reconfiguration indicating that the first SDAP data PDU is a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow transmitted on the first DRB.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) reduces call drops caused by a delayed transmission of a measurement report. In one instance, the UE enters a sleep duration in a current C-DRX cycle (connected discontinuous reception cycle) while in connected mode on a serving cell of a first RAT (radio access technology). The UE then evaluates one or more neighbor cells of a second RAT, for potential handover, during the sleep duration by performing inter radio access technology (IRAT) measurement. The UE also determines whether to wake up prior to a scheduled end of the sleep duration and send a scheduling request before the scheduled end when inter radio access technology (IRAT) measurement is completed. The determination can be based on a signal quality of the serving cell, a signal quality of the at least one neighbor cell, and a remaining time of the sleep duration in the current C-DRX cycle.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) adjusts a system information block (SIB) read abort timer to reduce mobile terminated circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) failure. In one instance, the UE receives a redirection list including frequencies to search for redirection and searches each frequency in the list to determine a strongest frequency. The UE then decodes short period system information blocks (SIBs) for a variable number of non-strongest frequencies until a strongest short period SIB is received. The UE adjusts a SIB read abort timer based on a signal quality of the strongest frequency and the variable number.
