    Abstract: Techniques for signaling dynamic control region for PRACH transmission are described. In an aspect, the disclosure describes a method for receiving, at a user equipment (UE), an indication of a number of control symbols that the UE is to assume when transmitting physical random access channel (PRACH), and transmitting, by the UE, the PRACH over one or more slots based on the number of control symbols. In another aspect, the disclosure describes a method for generating, at a network device, an indication of a number of control symbols that a UE is to assume when transmitting PRACH, transmitting, by the network device, the indication to the UE. A UE and network device configuration as well as apparatuses and computer-readable medium related to these methods are also described.

    Abstract: Wireless communication devices are adapted to facilitate a random access procedure. According to one example, scheduled entity can transmit a first transmission that is received by a scheduling entity. The first transmission may include a physical random access channel (PRACH) preamble sequence and a first message including information for determining a device-specific network identifier for the scheduled entity. The scheduling entity may transmit a second transmission that is received by the scheduled entity. The second transmission may include information on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) addressed to the device-specific network identifier for the scheduled entity, and a second message on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

    Abstract: A base station may configure at least a first downlink transmission in a regular downlink burst with the first numerology for transmitting at least a portion of a data channel to a UE according to a numerology of a service used for data channel transmission. The base station also may configure at least a portion of a second downlink transmission in a regular downlink burst with a second numerology for transmitting a synchronization signal to the UE. A UE that receives the downlink regular burst may demodulate and decode the symbols in the received transmissions according to the numerology associated with each symbol.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling and providing uplink based mobility procedures are disclosed. Embodiments provide uplink based mobility procedures in which one or more physical channel typically used to facilitate uplink based mobility is not utilized. For example, an uplink based mobility process of embodiments utilizes a UL-based mobility specific ID and/or synchronization signals to provide information for decoding signals avoiding the use of physical cell identifier channel (PCICH). Embodiments of an uplink based mobility process utilize a physical channel, such as a physical slot format indication channel (PSFICH) or a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), to provide uplink mobility signal acknowledgements and paging indications avoiding the use of a physical keep alive channel (PKACH).

    Abstract: Various aspects provide for communicating a first set of broadcast reference signals (RSs) in a first subframe that includes a synchronization (SYNC) channel and communicating a second set of broadcast RSs in a second subframe that follows the first subframe. The second subframe may immediately follow the first subframe. A portion of the SYNC channel may include information indicating a configuration of broadcast RSs in one or more other subframes. The broadcast RSs may be configured for timing-error estimation, frequency-error estimation, and/or channel estimation. Additional and alternative aspects, embodiments, and features are also provided herein.
