Abstract: A configuration of providing uplink resources that supports low throughput traffic and high throughput traffic, while providing efficient utilization of downlink resources. The apparatus configures at least one UE with a set of group identifiers, the set of group identifiers including at least one group identifiers. The apparatus transmits a GC-DCI in a GC search space, the GC-DCI indicates to the at least one UE a change of uplink data resources, the GC-DCI may be encoded using a group identifier from the set of group identifiers.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a starting symbol of a radio frequency (RF) retuning gap between a first plurality of repetitions of an uplink transmission in a first frequency hop and a second plurality of repetitions of the uplink transmission in a second frequency hop. The starting symbol of the RF retuning gap is based at least in part on a starting symbol of the second plurality of repetitions and a quantity of symbols included in the RF retuning gap. The UE may determine an ending symbol of the RF retuning gap based at least in part on the starting symbol of the second plurality of repetitions. The UE may perform RF retuning during the RF retuning gap. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit UE assistance information including UE capability report and measurement report to a base station, and the base station may determine a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring configuration for reduced-capability UEs based at least in part on the UE assistance information. The UE may determine whether a group common PDCCH (GC-PDCCH) communication indicates that the zone identifier is activated for an associated monitoring period. The UE may selectively perform one or more PDCCH blind decodes in one or more search space sets associated with the zone identifier during the monitoring period based at least in part on determining whether the GC-PDCCH communication indicates that the zone identifier is activated for the monitoring period. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

Abstract: Different sets of downlink control information (DCI) fields may be configured for DCI that includes an indication to trigger bandwidth part switching at a user equipment (UE). For example, a UE may receive DCI that triggers the UE to switch operation from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part. The UE may also identify a set of transformable DCI fields and a set of non-transformable DCI fields within the DCI. The UE may then determine updated content of the DCI for application to the second bandwidth part based on whether DCI fields are included in the set of transformable or the set of non-transformable fields. In some cases, the UE may identify a null assignment in the received DCI and may switch its operation from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part based on the null assignment.

Abstract: Bandwidth part (BWP) switching may benefit a wireless communications system. Such BWP switching may include indication of one or more timing parameters used for time domain resource allocation. For example, the timing parameters may be indicated based on an index to a look-up table (e.g., a bit field in a control transmission). In some cases, one or more tables may be configured for a given BWP, and different tables may contain a different number of rows. The size of the bit field indexing the table may in turn depend on the number of rows. When switching from a first BWP to a second BWP, the size of the bit field may be based on the table of the first BWP, but the bit field may index the table of the second BWP. Techniques supporting improved timing parameter management during BWP switching are discussed herein.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for receive chain selection at a user equipment (UE) with efficient switching between a reduced number of receive chains and an increased number of receive chains for downlink communications based on conditions at the UE. A UE may adaptively adjust the number of active receive chains based on downlink grant activity, channel conditions, network parameters, or any combinations thereof. An estimator block at the UE may determine to adjust the number of receive chains based on a number of downlink grants within one or more time periods. In some cases, grants for an amount of data that exceeds a threshold may be qualified in order to be counted at the estimation block. Further, a transient state may be provided where the UE may maintain a higher number of active receive chains until UE feedback is provided.
