Abstract: A technique is disclosed to facilitate dual active connections by a UE device using a transmitter. A first connection is established with a first access node for wireless communication services. A first coexistence indicator provided/sent by the UE device to the first access node indicating that the UE device supports multiple concurrent connections. In response to providing the first coexistence indicator, the UE device receives a first transmit pattern and a first receive pattern. The transmitter may be configure to transmit according to the first transmit pattern for the first connection while sharing transmission resources with at least one other connection. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also described and claimed herein.

Abstract: The described aspects include methods and apparatus for activating a transmitter to communicate in a wireless network. A small cell can determine to activate the transmitter to serve user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. The small cell can then broadcast a portion of a set of broadcast signals in a radio frame and broadcast a remaining portion of the set of broadcast signals along with the portion of the set of broadcast signals in a subsequent radio frame. By refraining from immediately broadcasting all broadcast signals, the small cell can mitigate interference to other small cells. In addition, a UE can determine whether to generate random access channel (RACH) sequences for proximity determination or uplink timing synchronization based on parameters received in a RACH order. Moreover, a small cell with an active transmitter can decode discovery signals from a device to facilitate handover determination.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided that facilitate routing of messages of a positioning protocol, such as long term evolution (LTE) positioning protocol annex (LPPa). A positioning server can determine a network area identifier of one or more messages based at least in part on an identifier of a base station associated with the one or more messages. Based at least in part on the network area identifier, the positioning server can provide the one or more messages to an intermediate network node corresponding to the one or more base stations, such as a mobility management entity (MME). MME can similarly provide the one or more messages to an optional gateway between it and the one or more base stations based at least in part on receiving the network area identifier in the one or more messages. In addition, a base station can update positioning information with the positioning server.

The delayed feedback transmission time is based at least in part on a timing for tuning the transmitter from the second RAT to the first RAT. Another method includes transmitting a first transmission, in which the first transmission is associated with a default feedback transmission time for the first transmission; and receiving feedback for the first transmission at a delayed feedback transmission time for the first transmission.
