Abstract:
One embodiment of the subject matter of the present application, a method for identifying features of a model of an interior configuration of one or more three-dimensional objects within a three-dimensional interior space, includes including at least one respective identifier in an interior space item, the interior space item including an interior space cavity, the interior space cavity forming at least a part of a model of the three-dimensional interior space, and in one or more object items, the one or more object items forming at least a part of models of the one or more three-dimensional objects. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for producing a model of an interior configuration of one or more three-dimensional objects within a three-dimensional interior space, including accepting interior space data representing at least a portion of the three-dimensional interior space; providing the interior space data to one or more rapid prototyping apparatuses to create an interior space item including a cavity, the cavity at least partially constituting a model of the three-dimensional interior space; accepting object data representing at least the one or more three-dimensional objects; and providing the object data to the one or more rapid prototyping apparatuses to create one or more object items, the one or more object items at least partially constituting models of the one or more three-dimensional objects. Other methods for producing such a model and an article are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and a system for determining a volume of a substance in a container where the method includes generating an excitation signal that creates an acoustic signal in the container, receiving the acoustic signal, and determining a volume of a substance in the container based at least in part on a signature of the acoustic signal.
Abstract:
A beam multiplier includes a beam-multiplying layer and an adjacent optical layer. The beam-multiplying layer is operable to generate output beamlets of light from an input beam of light, and the optical layer has an adjustable index of refraction. By switching the index of refraction of the optical layer between first and second values, one can switch the beam multiplier to a first state (e.g., “on”) where it generates the output beamlets of light, and can switch the beam multiplier to a second state (e.g., “off”) where it passes the input beam of light but does not generate the output beamlets. And by using the beam multiplier as an exit-pupil expander, one can switch the exit-pupil expander to a first state where it generates multiple exit-pupil images, and to a second state where it generates only a single exit-pupil image.
Abstract:
An electrochemical device (such as a battery) includes at least one electrode having a fluid surface, which may employ a surface energy effect to maintain a position of the fluid surface and/or to modulate flow within the fluid. Fluid-directing structures may also modulate flow or retain fluid in a predetermined pattern. An electrolyte within the device may also include an ion-transport fluid, for example infiltrated into a porous solid support.
Abstract:
A classification method and system for possible content alteration of a media work may include criteria regarding content that is feasible for alteration. Such criteria may be maintained in records that are accessible to an interested party. Some embodiments may include a record of primary authorization rights applicable to a possible content alteration. A further embodiment feature may include a record of secondary authorization rights applicable to substitute altered content incorporated in a derivative version. Various systems and methods may be used to incorporate substitute content in a derivative version of the media work in compliance with applicable modification guidelines. In some instances substitute promotional content may have some association with a real-world topic or real-world entity or real-world person.
