Abstract: Systems and methods of early termination of uplink data transmissions for a UE are described. The UE transmits capacity information that indicates that the UE supports use of an ETS. The ETS indicates successful reception by the eNB of the uplink data prior to an end of a scheduled transmission period to transmit repeated instances of the data. The UE receives a schedule for repeated transmissions of the data that is based on a coverage level of the UE, and then transmits sets of one or more repetitions. After the transmission, the UE monitors a predetermined resource whether the ETS is present or whether the ETS indicates an ACK. If the ETS indicates successful reception, the UE terminates transmission of the remaining repetitions of the data and enters a sleep mode or transmits other uplink data.

The gNB may further include encoding circuitry, coupled with the processing circuitry, to encode the signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE). Other embodiments may be disclosed throughout.

One example embodiment employable at a NR wireless communication device comprises processing circuitry configured to: generate one or more PN (Pseudo Noise) sequences based at least in part on an initial state of a PN generator; extract, for each PRB (Physical Resource Block) of one or more PRBs, an associated portion of an associated PN sequence of the one or more PN sequences, based at least in part on a reference subcarrier index, independent of a bandwidth part configuration and of a maximum supported number of PRBs; and generate, for each PRB of the one or more PRBs, an associated set of RS(s) for that PRB based at least in part on the extracted associated portion of the associated PN sequence for that PRB.

The one or more processors are to receive radio resource control (RRC) data via the RF interface, configure a timer for a BWP according to the RRC data, and trigger the timer for the BWP in response to detection of an event associated with an access node after the BWP has been activated.

Abstract: User equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry, where to configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications in an unlicensed spectrum, the processing circuitry is to decode a first configuration message received from a base station, the first configuration message including a channel quality indicator (CQI) table indication identifying a CQI table. A second configuration message is decoded, the second configuration message received separately from the first configuration message and including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table indication identifying an MCS table. DCI received via a PDCCH is decoded, the DCI providing a DL grant and an MCS index in the MCS table. DL information received via a PDSCH is decoded using modulation order and target code rate corresponding to the MCS index in the MCS table.

Abstract: Narrowband Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) implementations are discussed. An example Evolved NodeB (eNB) comprises a memory storing instructions, a processor configured to execute the instructions, and a transmitter circuit. The processor is configured to determine at least one of downlink or uplink scheduling for one or more machine-type communication (MTC)-enabled user equipments (UEs); to generate, based at least in part on the determined scheduling, one or more MTC-physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) signals (M-PDCCH signals) associated with the one or more MTC-enabled UEs; and to perform channel coding, multiplexing, and scrambling of the one or more M-PDCCH signals. The transmitter circuit is configured to map the one or more M-PDCCH signals to resource element groups (REGs) in order of increasing subcarrier followed by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and to transmit the one or more M-PDCCH signals via a narrowband bandwidth of less than 1.4 MHz.

Abstract: Embodiments of a user equipment (UE) and method for resource allocation and device-to-device (D2D) discovery hopping are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the UE may receive signaling from an enhanced node B (eNB) indicating discovery resources to transmit discovery signals on within an LTE operation zone. The discovery resources may include a discovery zone which may comprise a plurality of physical resource blocks (PRBs) and a plurality of subframes. The UE may transmit a discovery signal for receipt by one or more other UEs for D2D discovery within some of the PRBs of the discovery zone. The PRBs for the transmission of the discovery signal may be determined in accordance with a hopping mode to provide increased frequency diversity within a bandwidth of the discovery zone. The hopping mode may comprise intra-subframe hopping, inter-subframe hopping or joint intra/inter-subframe hopping.
