Abstract: A method of drilling a wellbore may include drilling the wellbore using a wellbore fluid that has rheological property values for 6 rpm, 10 minute gel, Yield Point, and/or 10 minute-to-10 second gel ratio that are +/20% of the mean values across a temperature range from 40° F. to 300° F.; and conditioning the wellbore with less than 2 hole volumes. The wellbore fluid may include an oleaginous external phase; a non-oleaginous internal phase; an amidoamine emulsifier stabilizing the non-oleaginous internal phase within the oleaginous external phase; at least two oil wetting agents; a rheology modifier; and a weighting agent having a d50 ranging from 5 to 10 μm.

The running tool includes a spindle connected to a hollow suspension structure via a torque transmission structure, one end of the spindle slidably passes through a hollow piston, the suspension structure rotates with the spindle and slide along the piston, the inner cavity of the torque transmission structure communicates with that of the suspension structure to form a piston cavity; the piston cavity and the piston form a hydraulic piston structure; and one end of the suspension structure away from the torque transmission structure can rotatably hook to and lift upward to release the annulus sealing device, and one end of the piston away from the torque transmission structure can radially expand to hook to the casing hanger and can radially contract to release the casing hanger.

Abstract: A system and method for injecting bailer content utilizing a dump bailer having an elongated, flexible bailer receptacle secured between a head assembly and an injection assembly. Disposed within the dump bailer are first and second piston assemblies, each of which includes a piston having a central fluid passage with a pressure actuated flow control mechanism in the form of a rupture disk disposed along the fluid passage of the piston. An electric, positive displacement pump within the head assembly draws wellbore fluid into the dump bailer assembly to drive the first piston assembly towards the second piston assembly so as to release bailer content into a wellbore. The elongated flexible bailer receptacle may be a hose stored on a bailer receptacle reel, which hose may be paid out by the reel to a length that corresponds with a volume of bailer content to be released into the wellbore.

Abstract: A flow assembly is deployed downhole in a casing for a cementing operation. The flow assembly has a spool with an optical cable. As cement is pumped downhole and through the flow assembly, a dart attached to the optical cable on the spool is dragged with the flow of cement. Cement flow is stopped based on signals along the optical cable that the dart is at a desired location downhole.

Abstract: A slow rate pumping system which includes a discharge line to receive a discharge flow of displacement fluid from a high rate pumper, a return line off of the discharge line to receive a return flow of displacement fluid, a slow rate diversion pumping line off of the discharge line for supplying a diversion flow of displacement fluid downhole, a return valve to control the return flow, and a diversion valve to control the downhole flow. A method of supplying a slow rate flow which includes receiving a main pumping flow through a return line at a pumping pressure, producing a differential pressure between the pumping pressure and a downhole pressure matching a differential setpoint, diverting a slow rate flow of fluid from the main flow using a diversion line off the return line prior to the return valve, and maintaining the differential pressure.

Abstract: Methods for cementing a subterranean well and maintaining zonal isolation involve preparing a cement slurry that contains water, an inorganic cement and an expanding agent. The slurry is placed in the annular region between casing and the formation or between two casing strings. After the cement sets, the expanding agent reacts and causes the set cement to be in a state of compression within the annular region. The casing dimensions may fluctuate in response to a temperature change, a pressure change, a mechanical disturbance resulting from a well intervention, or mud contamination or a combination thereof. The expanding agent may further react and maintain a state of compression within the annular region. The state of compression in the annular region may be monitored by acoustic impedance measurements.
