    Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes: a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzles; a pressure chamber communicating with the nozzle; and a pressure generating element, in which each of the nozzles is formed by communicating a first opening portion and a second opening portion, when two nozzles adjacent to each other are represented by a first nozzle and a second nozzle, the second opening portion of the first nozzle and the second opening portion of the second nozzle are disposed along a first direction, each of the second opening portions extends in a second direction, and an inner diameter of the second opening portion in the second direction is larger than an inner diameter of the first opening portion, the first opening portion of the first nozzle and the first opening portion of the second nozzle are disposed so as to be shifted from each other in the second direction.

    Abstract: A printer includes a first ink head that ejects a first ink, a second ink head that ejects a second ink, a first dot controller that controls a dot size after curing of the ejected first ink, and a second dot controller that controls a dot size after curing of the ejected second ink. The second ink is ejected over the first ink on a recording medium, and the second ink is caused to have a dot size that is larger than a dot size of the first ink.

    Abstract: The image inspection method includes: a step of acquiring data of an inspection image obtained by capturing an image of a recorded matter recorded by an image recording system that performs a compensation process of compensating for a defect caused by a failure in an image formation element, using an imaging apparatus; a step of acquiring data of a reference image; and a step of comparing the data of the inspection image with the data of the reference image to determine whether there is a defect at each position of the inspection image. The defect detection step includes a process that makes a defect detection performance different in a compensation application region and a compensation non-application region other than the compensation application region, on the basis of compensation position information of the failure in the image formation element to which the compensation process has been applied.

    Abstract: An inkjet printhead includes: a rigid elongate carrier having an ink supply channel and a lower surface having a plurality of printhead chips mounted thereon; a rigid PCB attached to the lower surface of the carrier, the PCB extending a length of the carrier and projecting laterally beyond a sidewall of the carrier; a lead retainer attached to the sidewall of the carrier; and a plurality of leads extending upwardly from contact pads positioned along a longitudinal edge portion of the PCB, each lead being secured to the sidewall of the carrier via the lead retainer. The PCB supplies power and data to the printhead chips via electrical connections between the PCB and the printhead chips.

    Abstract: Provided is a line inkjet printer capable of color printing using a simple configuration. A line inkjet printer has: a conveyance unit that, when printing, conveys at least one of a print medium and line head in a conveyance direction; and a line head having multiple nozzles that eject ink of one of N (where N is an integer of 2 or more) different colors arranged in a direction intersecting the conveyance direction, and configured to eject mutually different colors of ink from nozzles that are mutually adjacent along the direction intersecting the conveyance direction.
