Abstract: Provided is an indwelling catheter which is stiff when being inserted into a vessel such as a blood vessel, softens after indwelling in the vessel, and conforms to a shape in a direction in which the vessel runs. In the indwelling catheter, the maximum value of a catheter repulsive force in a dry state at 25° C. is 0.10 N or more; the maximum value of the catheter repulsive force when immersed in warm water at 37° C. is 0.01 to 0.25 N; a ratio of the maximum value of the catheter repulsive force in a dry state at 25° C. to the maximum value of the catheter repulsive force when immersed in warm water at 37° C. is in a range of 3.5:1 or more; and the maximum value of the catheter repulsive force when immersed in warm water at 37° C. is 0.027 N or less after 5 minutes from indwelling.

Abstract: A liquid excipient is added to a lock solution formulation containing a lower alcohol and an anti-coagulant, antibiotic, and/or anti-microbial, such as the ethanol and tri-sodium citrate lock solution formulation, to prevent citrate from crystallizing in catheters made from silicone. The locking solution could include a liquid excipient, such as glycerol, polysorbate-20, or polyethylene glycol (PEG)-400, along with a lower alcohol, such as ethanol, and an anti-coagulant, such as tri-sodium citrate, antibiotic, and/or anti-microbial.

    Inventor: Harald HUBER

Abstract: The invention refers to an endoscope including at least one channel which may be contaminated in use, wherein the channel wall of the at least one channel is formed of a material having properties capable of photocatalysis. The invention further refers to a method for cleaning such an endoscope including the steps of: connecting the endoscope to a reprocessing device, performing a photocatalytic treatment at least in the at least one channel for the purpose of the decomposition of organic residues on the surface of the channel, and rinsing the endoscope. The invention further refers to a cleaning device for cleaning such an endoscope.
