摘要:
A sound transmission reduction system for use between a floor or other integer of a building construction and a suitable covering for said floor or other integer includes (I) a rigid single layer substrate of gypsum fibreboard, fibre cement, hardboard, plywood or stabilised reconstituted wood, having a thickness of not more than 14 mm; (II) a single resilient layer having a thickness of not more than 10 mm secured or securable to one surface of said substrate; (III) the resilient layer being secured or securable on its opposite surface to said floor or other integer. The arrangement is such that in use the securing together of the substrate and the resilient layer and the securing of the resilient layer to the floor or other integer provides a reduction of sound transmission through the floor or other integer. A method of reducing sound transmission is also disclosed.
摘要:
A multiple layer fiber reinforced material and method of constructing the same including the provision of a first layer of a roll lofted glass material. Optional variants include the pre-application of plywood, OSB or fiber reinforced cement board materials prior to the first glass layer. A layer of a rolled fiber reinforced material is applied over the rolled glass material, with or without backing board material, and at least a second layer of the roll lofted glass material is applied over the rolled fiber reinforced material. A layer of a second rolled glass material is applied over the subsequent layer of the first glass material and a urethane resin syrup is intermixed with said layers of glass material and the fiber reinforced material. An application of heat and pressure results in the formation of the reinforced material. A flexural, closed cell foam material may also be applied to provide acoustical insulating properties to the multi-layer fiber material.

A sound insulating membrane and processes for forming, particularly well suited for use in floor, ceiling and wall constructions. The membrane comprises at least one backing layer in contact with a layer of nonfoam polymeric material. The polymeric material has an elongation factor of about 500% to about 900% and a Shore A hardness of from about 65 to about 80 points, 5 seconds. In a preferred embodiment, the polymeric material comprises 40-70% chlorinated polyethylene, 20-30% ethylene vinyl acetate, and up to 10% polyvinyl chloride. Floor, ceiling and wall constructions and related methods utilizing the sound insulating membranes are also disclosed.

A floor construction of wood panels (12) overlying a base support (11) with a layer (13) of yieldably resilient materials (14, 15) sandwiched between the panels (12) and the base support (11). The materials (14, 15) are of mutually different stillnesses, one being a relatively large main panel area of an open-cellular material (14) and the other being a relatively small area of a closed-cellular material (15) in the form of strips bordering the main panel area. The open-cellular material (14) provides a large degree of vibration isolation, whilst the closed-cellular (stiffer) material (15) stabilizes the panels in the vicinity of panel-to-panel joints and/or the floor periphery.

A bowling lane construction and method utilizes either a synthetic substructure layer or synthetic bowling lane panels, or both, which are supported upon a compressible foam layer which dampens noise and vibration and also permits leveling from the upper surface utilizing leveling screws. The compressible foam layer comprises a double-backed adhesive foam tape which is used in lieu of fasteners for joining the construction together.

A sound insulating structure is provided which is made by foam-backing a carpet in a single operation and which includes a consolidated layer with few or no cells followed by a cellular soft elastic layer. To this end structured materials such as fleece and/or cut foam into which foaming takes place in order to form the consolidated layer, are provided on the back of the carpet or of a foam-proof covering thereon.

A resilient sports floor comprising a top layer, which is designed to be a coherent sheet consisting of boards. In each board recesses are provided in the shape of mutually parallel grooves along the entire length of the board, in which grooves strips of a springy resilient material, e.g. a natural or synthetic rubber material or a porous, springy plastic material, are inserted. The thickness of strips is larger than the depth of grooves, so that the strips project below the underside of layer with their lower portion. The floor is provided with the free surface of strips directly against a rigid sub-floor. In case of extremely high loads strips will be pressed into grooves, so that the strips are relieved due to the fact that the floor is in direct contact with the sub-floor with its underside.

To manufacture an anechoic coating which prevents a wall from reflecting acoustic waves, the wall is coated with an elastic material of low compressibility, which is highly absorbent under shear stresses, and then with a highly compressible layer of material. A set of plates covers the second layer and vibrates under the effect of the acoustic waves. Rods fixed to these plates transmit these vibrations to the first layer which is thus subjected to shear stresses and dissipates the energy of the vibrations, thus making it possible to avoid the sonar detection of submarines.

An array of gravity-held-in-place-load-bearing-horizontal-modular-accessible-tiles, composite-modular-accessible-tiles, and resilient-composite-modular-accessible-tiles with flexible joints between adjacent modular-accessible-tiles in which the flexible joints are cuttable, accessible and resealable to provide accessibility to conductors disposed above or below one or more horizontal-disassociation-cushioning-layers, requiring fluidtight-flexible-assembly-joints between adjacent modular-accessible-tiles to assemble the modular-accessible-tiles by gravity, friction, and accumulated-interactive-assemblage into a floating finished floor array without adhering the modular-accessible-tiles to the horizontal-base-surface. A horizontal-disassociation-cushioning-layer provides accommodation for the thickness variations caused by termination and crossing over of layers of conductors and also provides improved impact sound isolation. An array of gravity-held-in-place-load-bearing-horizontal-modular-accessible-tiles, composite-modular-accessible-tiles, and resilient-composite-modular-accessible-tiles with flexible joints between adjacent modular-accessible-tiles in which the flexible joints are cuttable, accessible and resealable to provide accessibility from the entire top side to a resilient substrate, to horizontal-rigid-foam-insulation or to a three-dimensional-passage-and-support-matrix formed to accept and index varying combinations of electrical conductors, electronic signal and data conductors, fluid energy conductors, fluid conductors, and outlet-junction-boxes. The resilient substrate, horizontal-rigid-foam-insulation or three-dimensional-passage-and-support-matrix provide support for the array of modular-accessible-tiles, composite-modular-accessible-tiles or resilient-composite-modular-accessible-tiles with the cuttable, accessible and resealable fluidtight-flexible-assembly-joints joining the modular-accessible-tiles into an array held in place by gravity, friction and accumulated-interactive-assemblage. One or more horizontal-disassociation-cushioning-layers may be disposed above or below the three-dimensional-passage-and-support-matrix to provide improved impact sound isolation.
