摘要: A method of sealing a well includes selecting a preexisting fluid pathway between a production platform and a desired sealing location in the well to be sealed, determining, for the well to be sealed, a desired quantity of sealant having known flow qualities, to be delivered in fluid form to the well in the sealing region of the well, determining, based on the flow qualities of the sealant in fluid form and the flow qualities of the preexisting fluid pathway, the time needed to deliver the desired quantity of the sealant in fluid form to the sealing location in the well, determining, based on the time needed to deliver the desired quantity of the sealant in fluid form to the sealing location in the well, whether the sealant will maintain the fluid form, if necessary, change one or more qualities of the sealant so that the desired quantity of the sealant will reach the sealing location in the well while in the fluid form, and transport the quantity of sealant, in fluid form, through the preexisting fluid pathway between a production platform and the desired sealing location in the well to be sealed.

摘要: The present invention provides methods and materials for treating an oil and gas well by introducing a polyurethane composition into the well to plug perforations and other non-productive zones of an oil and gas well to greatly reduce or prevent the ingress of formation water during production. These methods include: (a) preparing a polyurethane composition by mixing a polyol-containing component and a polyisocyanate-containing component; and (b) introducing the polyurethane composition into the well. The polyol-containing component includes a polymeric polyol having a viscosity at 25° C. of no more than 1000 mPa·s and the isocyanate-containing component includes an unblocked (cyclo)aliphatic polyisocyanate polymer, optionally including allophanate groups, and having a viscosity at 25° C. of no more than 1000 mPa·s and at least 99% solids content.

摘要: Polylactide fibers are made from a blend of polylactides. One of the polylactides has a ratio of R-lactic and S-lactic units from 8:92 to 92:8. The second polylactide has a ratio of the R-lactic and S-lactic units of ≥97:3 or ≤3:97. The ratio of the R-lactic units to S-lactic units in the blend is from 7:93 to 25:75 or from 75:25 to 93:7. The polylactide fiber contains at least 5 Joules of polylactide crystallites per gram of polylactide resin in the fiber.
