    摘要: An instrument for positioning an intracorneal optical lens within an intracorneal pocket is disclosed. The instrument generally includes a handle and a cannula associated with and having a distal portion extending from the handle. The cannula is for fluidly coupling to a vacuum source in a first mode of operation and to a reservoir of surgical fluid in a second mode of operation. The distal portion of the cannula is for receiving the lens in a folded position around the distal portion. The distal portion has an aperture for providing vacuum to hold the lens in the folded position in the first mode of operation and for ejecting surgical fluid in an outward direction from the distal portion to help unfold the lens in the second mode of operation. Methods of using the instrument for positioning of an intracorneal optical lens are also disclosed.

In the preferred embodiments of the invention, the forearm guard comprise a sleeve of stretchable material and a flexible impact absorbing pad affixed to the forearm portion of said sleeve. The sleeve is preferable comprised of washable fabric that includes an elastomeric component, and/or is woven to provide stretchability. The sleeve can be of any suitable length and diameter effective to secure the impact absorbing pad over the forearm and thereby protect the forearm of the wearer during an athletic activity. In the preferred embodiments of this invention, the forearm guard is particularly suitable in the protection of the forearm of a baseball player from a wild pitch during batting.

The apparatus includes a hollow tube having an interior wall defining a hollow space through which an intraocular lens may be passed from the open space into an eye. A lubricity enhancing component is covalently bonded to the hollow tube at the interior wall in an amount effective to facilitate the passage of the intraocular lens through the hollow space. The lubricity enhancing component includes a substituent component effective to reduce hydrolysis of said lubricity enhancing component relative to an identical lubricity enhancing component without the substituent component.

    摘要: A detachable adaptor for glasses by which shelter glasses are detachably mounted immediately in front of main glasses. The main glasses include a main frame which holds a pair of main lenses, and the shelter glasses include a shelter frame which has magnetic lockers at both ends thereof and holds a pair of shelter lenses. The detachable adaptor has first and second clamp legs to clamp the adaptor to a desired position of the main frame. The first and second clamp legs are jointed at centers thereof to each other by a hinge. The detachable adaptor further has a magnet unit provided at a rear end of the first clamp leg and an adjusting screw provided at a rear end of the second clamp leg. The adjusting screw has a role as a spacer to adjust a clamping force of the first and second clamp legs when clamping the adaptor to the desired position of the main frame. Therefore, the detachable adaptor for glasses of the present invention is mounted to a desired position of the main glasses and selectively changes magnetic poles of a magnet unit provided therein, so that a variety of shelter glasses are selectively attached to the main frame of the main glasses by use of the detachable adaptor.
