摘要: A control for an electric motor in a vehicle. The control ascertains whether an obstacle is interfering with rotation of the motor. The control establishes a baseline speed, representing normal free running speed of the motor. This baseline speed will be different, in different operating environments. Then the control determines whether measured motor speed drops below the baseline speed by a predetermined amount. If so, then the motor is shut down, or reversed.

摘要: An entrapment detecting device for an opening/closing member includes a controller which memorizes a driving condition of a driving unit corresponding to load applied to the opening/closing member as a reference load data when a predetermined condition is satisfied during the movement of the opening/closing member for closing. The controller further calculates a driving data representing the driving condition during the movement of the opening/closing member for closing after memorizing the reference load data, and an abnormality detecting data generated by eliminating the load during the predetermined condition being satisfied from the driving data based upon the driving data and the reference load data, and the controller judges an entrapment based upon the abnormality detecting data.

摘要: A method of detecting a rotor condition of a dc motor is provided. The motor 14 is part of a motor control circuit 10 having a free-wheeling diode 20 in parallel with the motor 14. The method establishes a threshold voltage for back emf voltage evaluation. The motor is energized to operate at a certain speed. Current is cut-off to the motor via a switch 16 for a time sufficient for current through the free-wheeling diode to decay to zero. The back emf voltage detected at leads of the motor is then compared via a comparator 21 to the threshold voltage.

摘要: A system of preserving a starter/alternator in an I.C. engine system installation from excessive operation in the starter mode is disclosed. The system describes a method of comparing the respective rotational speeds of the starter/alternator and I.C. engine in starter mode first to each other and then, if the same, to a predetermined threshold speed. If an overspeed condition is detected, disabling the starter/alternator in starter mode. In addition, if a predetermined number of I.C. engine start sequences have occurred without successful I.C. engine operation, the starter mode is disabled for a predetermined period of time. If several start failures have been detected, the starter/alternator can be disabled until a repair of the I.C. engine fault can be made. Where the respective rotational speeds of the starter/alternator and I.C. engine differ, the system controller follows a series of logic steps to determine the fault and thereafter either notify the system controller and/or disable the starter/alternator.

摘要: The present invention provides a power window system, by which it is possible to reliably detect that a foreign object is caught in a car window even during the period from the time of starting of a motor to the time when stable operation of the window is reached, and also, it is possible to minimize erroneous detection. The power window system of the present invention includes a pulse generator for generating repeated pulses in response to rotation of a motor, and a control unit for judging that a foreign object is caught in the window. The control unit divides the period of operation into three periods to match the characteristics during the starting of the power window system, i.e. a first period from the starting of the motor to the initiation of upward or downward movement of the window, a second period to the time point when the window reaches and maintains stable operation, and a third period after the second period. In the first and the second periods, one cycle immediately before the repeated pulses is compared with the next half cycle. In the third period, a half cycle immediately before is compared with the next half cycle to judge whether a foreign object is caught in the window or not.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for regulating an electric-motor-driven adjusting device, in particular for vehicles, having a safety circuit (5) for reversing or stopping a drive motor, and to an apparatus for performing this method. To enable fast, safe detection in the event of something becoming caught or pinched, it is provided that an actual value is regulated via a closed-loop control circuit to a set-point value, the actual value or set-point value is a signal having a frequency proportional to the rpm or load on the drive motor, and the phase difference detected with a comparison member of the control circuit is utilized to activate the safety circuit. The apparatus for performing the method is characterized by a control circuit having a set-point value transducer and an actual value transducer, in which as the set-point value or actual value, a signal proportional to the rpm or load of the drive motor is processed, and having a comparison member, such as a phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit (8), for determining the phase difference delivered to a detection stage which activates the safety circuit.
