    摘要: A radio or television apparatus has tuning circuitry for selecting a channel from an input spectrum, an output for presenting a presentation from a selected channel, a recording apparatus having a memory with capacity for recording a fixed time duration T of the selected presentation, and adapted to make an audio record sequentially in a circular fashion, such that when the memory capacity is filled, the device continues to record, overwriting the oldest recorded information, providing thereby, at any point in time, a stored copy of time duration T immediately preceding the point in time. This innovation provides limited rewind capability for real-time data streams. In alternative embodiments add-on devices are provided for existing radios and TVs.

    摘要: An apparatus for providing voice titles for recorded programs includes a recorder (11,19) for recording on a sequential recording medium, which has an audio recording portion (242) and a control recording portion (246). A control input (222) is provided for indicating a start of a voice title and the start indicator (252) is recorded on the control recording portion of the sequential medium. A microphone (264) or other device is provided for entering a voice title and for recording the entered voice title onto the audio recording portion of the sequential medium sequentially following the recorded indication of the start of the voice title in the control recording portion. A control input (222) is provided for indicating an end of the voice title and the end indicator (254) is recorded onto the control recording portion of the sequential medium sequentially following the recorded voice title in the audio recording portion. The apparatus includes an analog to digital converter (270) for digitizing the entered voice title and a memory (33) for storing the digitized voice title. Another embodiment of the apparatus includes a voice synthesizer (260) for synthesizing a voice from the stored digitized voice title.

    摘要: First and second magnetic heads provided on a rotary drum alternately scan a magnetic tape. The first and second magnetic heads are different from each other in azimuth angle. A digital information signal is fed to the first magnetic head and is recorded on the magnetic tape via the first magnetic head while the first magnetic head is scanning the magnetic tape in a long time recording mode of operation where the magnetic tape is driven at a speed equal to a predetermined standard speed multiplied by 1/N. Here, N denotes a predetermined integer equal to or greater than 2. The digital information signal is fed to the second magnetic head and is recorded on the magnetic tape via the second magnetic head while the second magnetic head is scanning the magnetic tape in the long time recording mode of operation. In the long time recording mode of operation, the feed of the digital information signal to the first magnetic head and the second magnetic head is inhibited during an (N−1)/2 turn of the rotary drum after either the feed of the digital information signal to the first magnetic head or the feed of the digital information signal to the second magnetic head. A control pulse signal is recorded on the magnetic tape via a third magnetic head which is fixed. The control pulse signal has a period corresponding to one turn of the rotary drum. The control pulse signal has a duty cycle depending on timings at which the first and second magnetic heads record the digital information signal on the magnetic tape.

    摘要: Comparators receiving reference voltages are provided. An output signal from a differential amplifier is applied to these comparators. Here, the relationship of Vref1>Vref2>Vref3>Vref4>Vref5>Vbias>Vref6>Vref7>Vref8>Vref9>Vref10 is established. The output signals from the comparators are applied to a data latch/threshold level select circuit. The select circuit retains the maximum peak level of the prior comparison by the comparators, and retains the minimum peak value of the prior comparison by the comparators. The select circuit selects the output signal of the comparator of one lower level than the comparator that detects the maximum peak level at the prior comparison to supply the selected signal to a RS flip-flop circuit, and selects the output signal of the comparator of one higher level than the comparator that detects the minimum peak level at the prior comparison to supply the selected signal to the RS flip-flop circuit. The RS flip-flop circuit outputs a detection signal of a VISS signal in response to these select signals. As a result, a VISS signal detection circuit can reliably detect only the VISS signal without detecting the erase noise.
