摘要: A roller bearing cage includes at least one bridge element having a surface provided for directly opposing an outer surface of a roller body. A plurality of ship-hull-shaped or droplet-t-shaped macroscopic recesses is formed in the surface for retaining a lubricant therein. The recesses have at least one of a width and a depth in the circumferential direction of the roller body that diminishes towards at least one end in the circumferential direction. A first group of the recess diminishes in a direction substantially towards one of the ends and a second group of the recess diminishes in a direction towards the other end.

The introduction member (7) is provided with a flange-like section (10) that overlays the slope section (2b) with a minute gap δ between the flange-like section (10) and the slope section (2b) and that controls the flow amount of the lubricating oil flowing through the gap δ to the raceway surface (2a).

The invention also relates to an application of the bearing device for rotatably supporting a rotor in a centrifugal separator and to a method for supporting a centrifugal separator rotor for rotation about an axis of rotation.

摘要: A rolling element bearing comprises an inner ring and an outer ring which are each provided with a raceway, and a series of rolling elements which are in contact with the raceways of each ring. A lubricant film is provided in the contacts between the rolling elements and the raceways, which film forms a lubricant meniscus at the inlet side of each contact. In the bearing starved lubrication conditions prevail. The surface of each rolling element has minute recesses filled with a lubricant quantity, said recesses being flattened in the contact area defined by the contact between the rolling elements and the rings and thereby releasing lubricant at the inlet side of each contact resulting in a displacement of the meniscus further away from said contact. This meniscus displacement results in an increased lubricant film thickness in each contact area, thus improving the lubricating conditions in the bearing.

The shield plate 6 has a protrusion 9 that protrudes radially outwardly of the flange portion 1a. The protrusion 9 is placed in a place having an interval from the retainer 5 in an axial direction of the inner ring 1.
