Abstract:
A data carrier printed by line intaglio having a halftone image represented by irregular line structures in the manner of an engraving. The line structures are superimposed at least partly by fine structures rendered in positive or negative representation. Methods are provided for generating and processing irregular line structures as digital image data on a computer following individual specifications by an operator. The line structures are transferred to a line intaglio printing plate. The digital image data is used for controlling an engraving apparatus. In the alternative, other printing processes may be involved wherein the digital image data is superimposed at least partly with fine structures rendered in positive or negative representation.
Abstract:
Decorative material embodying the present invention may include a plurality of spaced-apart Fresnel lens. Process of manufacturing such decorative material in accordance with the present invention may include the steps of providing a plurality of Fresnel lens and applying an opaque coating to at least first portions of the Fresnel lens to provide spaced-apart second portions of the Fresnel lens.
Abstract:
A decorative shredded material having a complete pattern contained on each strip or piece of the decorative shredded material. Methods for making decorative shredded material.
Abstract:
A construction diagram affixed to a construction paper, for constructing a three-dimensional figure out of paper, or out of any other printable foldable surface, according to the principles of origami and papercraft. The construction diagram includes an image matrix and fold lines. The image matrix indicates what areas of the paper will be visible when the three-dimensional figure is constructed according to the construction diagram and the principles of origami, and the fold lines indicate how to fold the paper. Some of the fold lines may be truncated, depending on the shape of the paper used, compared to how long the fold lines would be if the paper were of a standard shape for the particular three-dimensional figure to be constructed. The result is a three-dimensional figure that is as large as could be constructed from the paper used.
Abstract:
A method of making a sample in a form of an outline drawing sheet, comprises the steps of preparing a plastic sheet 1 used for a base member, a screen for screen-printing, having a screen mesh 5 corresponding to a border line 2a for an outline drawing sheet, and a squeegee; placing printing ink 6 on the screen with the screen closely contacted to the plastic sheet; squeezing out the printing ink 6 through the screen mesh 5 by using the squeegee 7 to print a frame 2 constituting the border line for the outline drawing sheet 1, on the plastic sheet; applying paint 14 having a desired color on the plastic sheet 1 at an inside of the frame 2 after the frame 2 has been cured, to thereby form a colored portion 15; and stripping the frame 2 and the colored portion 15 integrated with the frame 2, from the plastic sheet 1.
Abstract:
A lighted display device includes a sculpted frame formed of thin wire or tubing. The frame outlines a character or an object and has one or more closed portions defined by the wire or tubing enclosing an area or partially enclosing an area. The display further includes a string of lights disposed along selected portions of the frame, and at least one translucent panel disposed in the closed portions or partially-closed portions of the frame.
Abstract:
A film applique in the form of a silhouette of the rear view of a human head applied to the rear window of a vehicle, the film being a semi-transparent reflective film of the type normally used as a tinting for vehicle window glass. The tinting film provides a reflective surface when illuminated, thereby giving the impression of occupants in the vehicle.

Abstract:
A decorative sheet formed by a transparent sheet body having a certain thickness and having front and rear surfaces, the transparent sheet being simply provided on its front surface and rear surfaces with parallel striped patterns with predetermined pitches, to thereby produce a decorative sheet excellent in decorativeness with color tone or colors changeable with the angle of observation.
Abstract:
Artistic tile designs are mass produced with precut tile pieces from commercially available square tile units. An initial tile design is created with the tile pieces to serve as a pattern. Thereafter the tile designs are reproduced by placing a transparent, semi-transparent or translucent sheet-type substrate or backing over the initial design, and by securing matching tile pieces to the substrate, as viewed through the substrate. The substrate is of the type that is sufficiently rigid to substantially maintain its shape while handled. The tile design can be repeated on the reverse side of the substrate using the design on the front side as the pattern to provide a double-sided design. If an opaque substrate is to be used, the front faces of the tile pieces are temporarily secured to a readily removable substrate, and the adhesive is thereafter applied to the back of the tile pieces to be permanently mounted. Further, the tile design can create a mold, and the tile design can be recreated with the use of the mold. The adhesive used is flexible to minimize stress due to substrate flex and temperature changes. Added strength for the bond is provided by allowing the adhesive to flow through holes in the substrate while maintaining its flexibility.
