    摘要: A cutting mechanism for use with a strapping tool includes a cutter having a polygonal cross-sectional configuration, a plurality of cutting surfaces defining a pair of elongate cutting edges, and a plurality of retaining recessed. The cutting edges are an in-use edge and a spare edge. The cutter is engaged with a movable die holder having a support surface for the cutting body. The holder includes a slot defining a plurality of projections. The projections are configured so that the retaining recesses of the cutter fit within the support surface slot. The cutter is reversible on the die holder such that the in-use and spare cutting edges are interchangeable by rotation of the cutter.

Each central bore includes recesses at each end. A support member is provided within the recess of the blade insert central bore on the inner side of the blade insert adjacent the anvil. The support member eliminates the unsupported section of the bolt in the recess, provides a positive blade insert location, and increases the blade insert to anvil surface area friction.

    摘要: A hydraulic punch press for use with a set of interchangeable tool assemblies for boring, cutting, bending, or otherwise working on semi-finished steel frame members or the like. Included are a punch press section having a hydraulic cylinder for driving a tool assembly, a toolholder section having a turntable on which tool seats are arranged radially for carrying a set of tool assemblies, and a guideway section for transfer of a tool assembly between punch press section and toolholder section. The turntable is rotatable to bring any of the tool seats to a tool transfer position where a tool assembly may be transferred to or back from the punch press section by way of the guideway. Each tool assembly is normally locked to one tool seat by two lockpins. One lockpin is automatically released when the associated tool seat comes to the tool transfer position, and the other when a positioning arm is manipulated to retain the tool seat in that position. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

    摘要: A heavy duty mobile wood and tire shear having a lower stationary jaw rigidly attachable to the dipper stick of a hydraulic excavator. The lower jaw has a forwardly extending face plate for receiving and supporting the workpiece with two forwardly extending tines. An upper C-shaped swingable jaw is pivotally mounted to the lower jaw and connected to the hydraulic cylinder of the dipper stick. The swingable jaw has a cutting blade with a knife-like edge. The upper jaw swings between open and closed positions relative to the lower jaw as to bring the cutting blade down upon the face plate as to penetrate and shear through wood. Shearing blades are releasably affixable along the knife-like edge of the cutting blade and along the face plate as to bring the shearing blades into shearing relation as the upper jaw approaches the closed position as to also shear through tires.

    摘要: A sheet material cutter for shearing various widths of sheet material such as aluminum or plastic siding, soffit, facia board and flashing is provided which is readily transportable and useful in cutting a variety of widths of such sheeting. The cutter has a base, a shearing blade of a length greater than the maximum width of sheet to be cut, spaced apart shearing dies mounted on the base and defining a shearing slot through which the blade travels when shearing a width of material, and a post on the base to which the shearing blade is pivotally mounted. The shearing blade includes a pointed section which pierces the sheet material, first the remaining shearing edges of the blade shearing the material to each side of the pierced area to complete cutting of the sheet material. The shearing dies are mounted on plate members of the base such that when the plate members are secured in abutting relationship, a predetermined distance is defined between the shearing die edges to ensure a precision fit of the shearing blade as it passes through the shearing slot adjacent the edges of the shearing dies. In this manner minimum pressure is required in shearing various widths of aluminum and plastic materials without requiring anything other than manual power to operate the cutter.

    摘要: An arrangement, preferably for clamping knife blades in power shears includes a longitudinal T-slot or dove-tail slot in the blade holder or the blade itself. Gripping means (16, 46, 76) are provided in the slot for engaging retainers (19, 47). The retainers or gripping means are connected to biassing means whereby the blade is pressed against the holder. The biassing means comprise spring means (28) or hydraulic clamping cylinders (36, 38; 61, 62). For relieving the bias of the spring means (28) there are provided hydraulic cylinders (22, 23; 51, 52), which release the blade when they are in operation. Alternatively the bias of the hydraulic clamping cylinders is relieved by counteracting spring means (43; 66) to release engagement of the gripping means.Since the blade is retained by means of retainers engaging in a groove, it can be withdrawn sideways, which enables rapid exchange. The hydraulic operation for clamping and release of the blade, respectively, is very rapid.

    摘要: A shearing apparatus for installation on a wellhead and having capability of shearing drill collars. The improved apparatus includes a body with a vertical bore therethrough and ram guideways extending laterally from opposite sides of the bore, a pair of rams, each positioned in one of the guideways, each ram including a cutting blade, reciprocating means secured to each ram for moving the rams and their cutting blades into the vertical bore to shear tubular members therein and to retract the rams and cutting blades into the guideways, the reciprocating means having sufficient power to cause the cutting blades to shear large diameter casing and drill collars, and arms secured to the sides of the rams and extending toward the other ram, said arms engaging as the rams are moved toward the bore and providing a force resisting the forces tending to vertically separate the cutting blades during shearing, said arms also substantially filling the space of the guideways outside the vertical bore to prevent the forcing of members being sheared into this space.
