摘要： The body support chair for physically challenged and disabled persons comprises a frame supporting an articulated structure comprising a seat, a foot rest, a back and two symmetrical lateral systems. Each articulated system comprises a first deformable quadrilateral (17), a second deformable polygon, a back assembly and a maneuvering assembly. The chair comprises, in addition, means (60) for automatic modification of the inclination (β) of the back of the chair with respect to the vertical direction in the sagittal plane between the lowered and verticalized positions.

Each side (70) also receives a guide roller (76) attached intermediate and vertically spaced relative to the front and rear rollers (72, 74). The guide rollers (76) extend through the respective arcuate slot (22) of the seat platform (12), to guide the movement of the seat platform (12) relative to the base (14).

摘要： A wheelchair backrest assembly is attachable to a wheelchair to replace the standard web or sling-type back. The backrest assembly is comprised of a rectangular frame having a central opening defined within it, the rectangular frame has sides curved forwardly to accommodate users of various sizes and shapes. A plurality of support members are attached to the frame and mountable to the upright cane portions of the wheelchair. The front portion of the rectangular frame, or that portion facing the wheelchair user, is covered by a cushioned pad, the back of which has a plurality of pockets designed to accommodate formable stays. The shape of each stay may be molded by hand and should be of a material resilient enough to withstand frequent reforming and yet should be strong enough such that when a user reclines against the backrest, the stays remain in place.

An edge of a top plate matingly engages the cavity. The top and bottom plate sandwich a frame member. A handle with a lock arm pivotally connects to the bottom plate. A pin extends from the lock arm, and engages a wheel upon movement of the handle, to secure the wheel from rotation.
