Abstract: Some aspects of the disclosure provide for wireless communication systems in which scheduling information is transmitted to a scheduled entity to schedule transmission of uplink feedback control information by the scheduled entity. The feedback control information may be transmitted in short uplink control bursts or long uplink bursts. Selection between short uplink control bursts and long uplink bursts may be based on power headroom at the scheduled entity, interference in the short uplink control burst or the long uplink burst, loading of the short uplink control burst or the long uplink burst or processing capability of the scheduled entity.

Abstract: Waveforms may be shaped in a wireless communications device by processing head tones of a multi-tone carrier using a head tone waveform shaping characteristic to provide a first sub-symbol, processing tail tones of the multi-tone carrier using a tail tone waveform shaping characteristic to provide a second sub-symbol, and processing center tones of the multi-tone carrier using a center tone waveform shaping characteristic to provide a third sub-symbol. The first, second, and third waveform shaping characteristics may be different from each other, i.e., the waveform shaping may be asymmetric. The first, second, and third sub-symbols may be combined to provide an output symbol.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. One method includes receiving, at a user equipment (UE), a transport block (TB) that includes a plurality of code block groups (CBGs); determining CBG failure information identifying a set of one or more CBGs in the TB that failed to decode at the UE; determining a compressed representation of the CBG failure information; and transmitting, in response to receiving the TB, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) information including the compressed representation of the CBG failure information. The compressed representation of the CBG failure information includes fewer bits of information than the CBG failure information.

Abstract: Compressed modulation feedback in codeword transmission with per-layer-modulation mapping is discussed. In the proposed compression schemes, the number of bits of feedback is compressed by excluding some of the allowed combinations of per-layer modulation orders. The excluded combinations are determined according to a fixed index delta, which prohibits any one modulation scheme being selected that has an index difference greater than the fixed index delta. The transmitting entity may then send per-layer modulation parameters, which may be the actual modulation orders identified or some relative parameter.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for enabling at least one opportunity to transmit mission critical (MiCr) data and at least one opportunity to receive MiCr data in a time division duplex (TDD) subframe during a single transmission time interval (TTI). The single TTI may be no greater than 500 microseconds. The TDD subframe may be a downlink (DL)-centric TDD subframe or an uplink (UL)-centric TDD subframe. How much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to transmit the MiCr data and how much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to receive the MiCr data may be adjusted based on one or more characteristics of the MiCr data. The MiCr data may have a low latency requirement, a high priority requirement, and/or a high reliability requirement. Various other aspects are provided throughout the present disclosure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems support mobile broadband (MBB) communications and low latency communications. To accommodate low latency communications, a base station may identify resources allocated for MBB communications, and the base station may reassign (or puncture) these resources for low latency communications. The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned (or punctured) resources to one or more user equipment (UEs). The base station may transmit an indication of the reassigned resources in a transmission time interval (TTI) that is subsequent to a TTI reassigned (or punctured) for low latency communications (e.g., a post indication). The base station may transmit the post indication in a retransmission grant of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) or in downlink control information (DCI) of a PDCCH.

Abstract: Adaptive pilot signaling is disclosed in which resources allocated to pilot symbols are allowed to vary to more closely match channel conditions. User equipments (UEs) may request different pilot configurations depending on channel conditions. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe an indication channel for wireless communications that indicates whether an ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) transmission is present in a current mini-slot within an enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) slot. A base station may determine that an indication message is to be transmitted within the eMBB slot. The indication message may indicate that at least a portion of the mini-slot of the eMBB slot is used for the URLLC transmission. The base station may allocate one or more resources to an indication channel in a same mini-slot as the portion of the mini-slot to be used for the URLLC transmission. The base station may transmit the indication message during the mini-slot on the indication channel using the allocated one or more resources. A UE may receive the indication channel and process at least the portion of the mini-slot based on whether the indication message is received.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems for wireless communication are provided. A method for wireless communication includes configuring a first device for a first mode of communication, receiving wide area network (WAN) scheduling information from downlink signals received from a network entity when a radio air interface of the first device is configured for the first mode of communication, configuring the first device for a second mode of communication, determining a mesh network schedule based on the WAN scheduling information, and communicating wirelessly with a second device in accordance with the mesh network schedule when the radio air interface is configured for the second mode of communication. The first device and the second device may communicate at power levels below a power level threshold selected to cause the network entity to ignore transmissions between the first device and the second device.
